A friend of mine bought a car via ebay from Maryland. It was full of rust and the rust was painted over to make the pics look good. There was nothing she could do short of spending a lot of time and money. I warned her beforehand to never buy anything that is expensive, unseen and out of state. But the vehicle did get delivered. Are you saying the goods were not delivered?

No one is going to go to this person's house short of a private detective. The burden of justice is fully on your friend.

I would think that police would quite adept at handling this matter. Why hasn't your friend contacted them?

Why is it always a friend this happens to?

And why isn't your Friend the one doing the asking?

IF it was my money I would be on a plane to find out myself

California's a big place. Where exactly?

It's hard to prove fraud in this particular case. It's 'what you see is what you get' unless otherwise stated. And bad bodywork is not against the law.
