So you know a counter weighted converter when you see one here's a picture. As you'll see they place the balance weight (for the engine) on the front side of the converter. There may also be a thin strip or 2 of steel around the outer perimeter of the converter to balance the converter itself but they have nothing to do with balancing the engine. Your picture of your converter shows one at approx. 10-11 O'clock
