I yanked on the parking brake handle of my 65 Barracuda the other day and the black (plastic?) handle bent towards me at almost a 45 degree angle. Are replacements available, or better yet, a metal handle that won't be trying to turn itself into a pretzel?

Yea, that's pretty common. They break all the time due to poor design. You have to pull near the center or it'll happen again.

I think I have a spare, I'll be in California next month (Oakland, SanDiego). send me a PM.

Repros are available. Better materials and no forty year history of getting yanked on by people in a hurry.

Due to the weak history of the factory pieces, I might even think about fabricating my own, or asking one of my brother-in-law welders to help me out.
