Ed Galleo had raced a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere 426/415 HP Max-Wedge Station Wagon during 1964 and 1965.

Ed wanted to get a 'new' 1966 '426 Street' Hemi Station Wagon to run in NHRA 'B/SA' for 1966.

Unfortunately for Ed, after getting the car he was 'frozen out', as the
NHRA deemed the 1966 Belvedere Station Wagon with a 426 Street Hemi as ineligible for Stock Class.

Ed then decided to campaign his 'new' 1966 Belvedere II Station Wagon in 'B/FX' for 1966, where it was 'legal'.

Word has it, that Ed had moderate success with the Belvedere in the Trophy Circuit, where it ran 12.20's @ 116 MPH.

It was lettered 'The Woolly Mammoth' on the front fenders.
