Its not the input shaft cover. Thats still on there. Bolted on. What came out literally looks like the throw out bearing. But in pieces. Does anyone have a clue!???? I could really use some innput here. I need to put this back together in order to drive it. I just dont have any experience with manual transmissions.

- It does kinda look like the front bearing retainer; at least what it could look like if blown up. However, it also looks like pieces of a previously blown release bearing, that probably got left inside the clutch, and finally worked their way out. It could only happen on a three-finger clutch. It would have vibrated horribly.IDK
- You say it came out of the BH. Well if it didnt come out of the clutch, I would be taking the clutch off to find the rest of the parts.
- And be sure to re-install the spring that parks the throw-out fork, so that the release bearing does not spin needlessly.
- What was the reason for removing the trans?

How was the clutch pedal when you shifted? Any noises? They usually rattle or click when the bearing is going bad but goes away a bit when you put pressure on it

Looks like what's left of the throw out bearing flange.

K. Definately could be something left in clutch. I took the transmission off because i wanted to see exactly what the hell was going on in there. The throwout bearing looks fine to me. But i have no experience

here is what it looks like. anyone see anything wrong?????

So its the throwout bearing flange? Grease shield? Ok. Can i purchase that? Do i have to buy a new throwout bearing? lSorry but i didnnt see the replys before i asked if anyone could help.

Can you remove the throw out bearing and take some bigger pictures of it from both sides?

............Soooooo , let me get this straight..........u took it apart to see what the hell was going on in there even though it was working perfectly........oooooh myyyy............I don't understand y u would................kim.........

obvious to me that someone blew up the front bearing retainer and replaced it. Nice painted blue with the rest of the tranny in sludge. leaving the old chunks inside....Lay a tape measure across the chunks and post a new picture.

Broken parts stuck in the sludge letting loose maybe?

Bearing or bushing in the crank flange?

X2 Clean everything up good and inspect parts. Looks to be part of front bear cover. Someone replaced with blue cover and didn't clean out blown parts stuck in the sludge.

Looks like the peices of an old blown up TO bearing to me. (which could explain the new bearing retainer)
Could have been left by someone in a big hurry to change the TO bearing and doing it with the trans still on the jack, so they didn't see it.

It's too thick to be a regular bearing dust cover.
To thin to be peices of a front bearing retainer. (the blue peice)
If it's not from the back side of your TO bearing, it doesn't go to anything still in that bellhousing.

IMO

I just noticed also, that these marked area's look a lot like ball races.
