There's a California Company that only makes Pink Boxes

From the pics posted here I can tell you guys have been wrenching a loooong time. Since the build Im doing is only a couple of years old I just went to home despot and got a 10 drawer husky box, fairly cheap but it does the job of separating the auto tools from the wood working tools.
Now my wood working/composites tool box is worth mentioning, and you would be surprised how often during this build I have to dive into it for the answer.
It does have a removable top section and can be locked down if stored.
I know its a little off subject but I thought some might appreciate it.
Andrew

Wow!! That woodworking box is beautiful and functional! Did you build that bad boy? If not where did you buy it from???

Either way, nice box!

Ma Snart

MA Snart, and the rest thanks for the kudos, when I couldnt afford to work on cars, I worked with wood, The tool box went with me to all of my union millwork jobs inside department stores.
yes I built it and all the tools that are in it.
here is a pic of three planes I made as well

heres mine old but still works

I dont think craftsman makes that top box anymore. If its not rollerbearing I dont think they make it. I know the non roller one was a beast. It was a good box that my friend used working on heavy equipment.

When I was working for John Deere you couldnt have an expensive box to carry out in the field because they would get damaged. Better off getting an cheaper one and replacing as necessary. It was a totally different animal than the auto shops I worked at. Snap On made a heavy gauge top box that weighed almost twice as much as the same model in standard gauge, it even had pads to get a forklift under it for moving around when loaded. but it cost about 1500 more. That one would last.

I can certianly appreciate a nice, good quality tool box, but I'm not about to spend thousands on one, especially when that's more than I've paid for most of my cars.

I picked up the bottom box off ebay as a scratch and dent. It's a waterloo 42".
The only things I could find wrong are a chip out of one corner of the particle board and a 1/2" dent on the back side of the guide rail for the top box.
I paid $225, and I see them for 2 to three times that. I also got another one from the same place, but red and without that big top drawer. It's got a small crease on every drawer about 3/4 inch and parralel to the edge, but no chipped pait. It was $125. Both were new and in the original boxes.

The top box is a Crafstman all ball bearing. I got it at my favorite scrap/ old car yard for $40. I have a quart of color matched black paint for it when I get around to blasting it.

I picked up that Kenwood stereo and Yamaha speaker system out of my neighbor's trash.

Here's my beast. I had 2 smaller red boxes (Snap On and Matco) on the bottom box that you see here. I picked up the Snap On top and the side boxes for 1/2 the price of the side box new. I was out of room so it worked out good. They were my Christmas presents that I gave myself when my girlfriend left me. But then we all know girlfriends come and go but good tools are forever. lol I do need to get a step stool as I cant reach to the back of the top storage. I can barely shut the lid on my tippy toes and I'm 6'.

Here is mine. as time goes on it seems you accumulate more tools.
3 snap on Box's and a unitool small side box. I was going to buy Snap on instead of the unitool box but almost $700 more for the snap on equivalent.
Both box's have ball bearing draws sliders.

I just picked up this side locker for $200.00. He is even going to deliver it 160 miles when I get back stateside. My plan is to scuff it and shoot it Snap On black to match my box. Cut a Mopar logo that's the right blue color with my vinyl cutter and put it on the door. Then the plan is to Mopar up the rest of my box with vinyl. Sort of build my own Mopar collectors Snap On box. lol Not a bad price even if it is bowtie blue

Oh yeah BIG BUMP fir the tool box thread.

I couldn't believe the ad had been on the website for 8 hrs. I called the guy, told him I was over here in the middle east and that I could pay him now and pick it up when I get back. He said no problem. He said he had calls but everyone wanted him to drop the price. My sanders, sand paper, body tools, welding tools .....ect are going in it.

Okay, not very well organized yet, but here's my Craftsman sets. I've had the small set for over 20 years, got the bigger set (on the left) on craigslist about a year ago
