not been up long......its 2.30pm here in London.........

the '71 ran at the Pod for a year with a 440 painted Pink! and ran 10.9's, now its in Norway I believe with a Barton 528 Hemi in it BH car now, don't know about the '69 though, never appeared back at the track from what I know, the guy I bought it from was trying to get it back a while ago, he now runs a Willys in Pro-Mod 6.4's.....

Welcome , thanks for showing pictures. Just curious: Familiar with Steve Green, and his crazy Cortina?...

thanks, yes Steve and I used to be buddys in the early days of "street" class when I was running my 340 '71 cuda, real nice guy, ....I remember that everyone used to tell me the 850DP was miles too big for my 340, including Steve, so to prove them and steve wrong I said I would try a smaller carb if he would try my 850 on his 3500cc Rover V8!!!......Well I went 2/10ths slower with a 750 and Steve went 2/10ths quicker than his 600 Holley....he couldn't believe it!!, should've seen the big grin on his face, anyhow he kept the 600 as he liked the throttle response......I believe Steve went on to run in our Super Modified class and got the Cortina down to a 7.80!!!!!!!

Welcome to the site Les ! Nice pictures and great looking cars ! Are you thinking of getting another car to play with ? You must miss it .

Welcome Les. Look around and stay a while!

Any more interesting stories would be most welcome.

Ever been to the Dunsfold Aerodrome?

Thanks, I sort of got back into a bit 2yrs ago now while at a Pub car park meet when this '70 Chally 340 with 6pk came in, blow me down the owner says, its Les, do you remember me etc. etc., then a '68 Cuda comes in, so now I'm in my element!!!.....since then I've been going to our Mopar Euro Nats meet and attended 1 Race meet, joined the MMA and post a bit on there, there's a few people on there who remember me and its good to talk over days gone by..... but as far as getting another car, no, I doubt it, thought about it but tbh with you I don't fancy running just brackets or Index racing, as thats all we have now, been there and done that, now if we had a proper Stock/SS class like you guys have got that might get me interested. We do have a "in name only" SS class for cars with springs only, but its anything goes apart from that, NOS, whatever size motor, so its not for me, we got 1 guy with a Chally on Caltracs thats just put a 655 motor in that, running him ain't gonna get you far.

I still like to get involved with a few cars/owners I've got to know, especially one who has a '68 Dart with just a 440 who runs 10.1's...thats enough for me for now....but who knows in the future....?

Cheers, yes I will be around, theirs lots of good info from you guys and interesting posts. No never been to Dunsfold, I only ran at the Pod and a place called North Weald aerodrome in the 80's, and still going today, but that is more of a test/tune track, no good to Hook on, not many tracks worth the visit really here apart from SP and Shakespeare County Raceway.
