Would this 4 speed fit my 1968 440 barracuda coupe?

It's a one year only Borg Warner T-10 63 4 speed trans from a 383 B-body. The shifter is in the wrong place, the tailshaft is too long, and it's got a ball and trunion output shaft.

Read here: http://www.brewersperformance.com/history.htm and here: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmissions/four-speed-manual.html

I've seen complete 67-76 A-body 4_speed swap overs at last Fall Fling and Spring Fling for $1000-$1400 (small block bellhousing) and transmission with shifter and linkage for $400-$700. Bare trans' $350-500 (need to open and inspect each gears' engaging teeth).

Since you have a big block in an A-body it's a little more complicated ($$).

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong with something here. But I'll try here... 67-76 A-body 4speed small block transmissions have a 4.354" bearing retainer and bellhousing. You'll need a cast iron bellhousing with casting numbers: #2468372 or Brewer repro cast aluminum #BH513R-S. That was originally on 67-69 A-bodies AND 66-67 B-bodies.

You need:
A-body A-833 trans 23 spline. 67-70 has 2.65 1st gear ratio, 71-75 has 2.44 1st gear.
Big block bellhousing stated above
clutch fork and pivot bracket
Flywheel
clutch
throwout bearing
A-body 4 speed linkage
Hurst A-body shifter
69-74 A-body 4-speed shifter handle
67-76 manual trans hump
67-76 A-body pedal setup
67-69 big block Z-bar and clutch linkage with rebuilt bushing kit
Driveshaft

Did I leave something out?
