"LA" engine?

Louisiana...I had a 340-8..I never knew they made an 8 bbl 340! As long as we are calling out motor acronyms...
351-C (Cleveland assembly plant but later 2 more)
351-W (Windsor casting plant)
351-M (Modified destroked tall deck 400-M) taking me back to my pseudo Ford years...
LA was 'Light "A"' due to new at the time lightweight casting techniques
B was 350-400 large block design circa 1958
RB was Raised B block circa 1959
G motor was the slants (LG for Low and RG for Raised)
A was poly
SOHC...etc.
