Best damned Christmas present in a very, VERY long time !!!

-
ive seen many people around my part lose their jobs and over the holiday season at that. alot of the economy cant survive around here with the prices as low as they are. im one of the lucky ones who still has a job...for now

I saw 1.89 per gal. at a grocery store on Tues.
Merry Christmas

Don't celebrate too loudly! The governor in Tennessee just announced they are going to go up on state gas tax! We're paying 39 cents a gallon tax now. Politicians are doing this so we won't raise hell about taxes going up. Remember, when the gas price per gallon goes down, the taxes per gallon do not.

if we only knew what is all behind all that goes on in this world!!??????

gov't ell us how national infrastructure is crumbling..... true

like he just said, low gas prices, raise highway gas tax.... then when gas goes back up...

lower crude prices.... what does this do to Russia, Venezuela, any Arab state we have problems with ( long list there)...

yep, cause mucho grief with any Working man employed with oil co. on other hand, how much more will average American spend MORE because of this windfall ( cheaper gas)?????????????????

diesel is down, EVERYTHING we buy gets there on the truck,,,,,, when will this decrease the cost of widgets!??? LOL

$1.85 today when I drove by with still 1/2 tank LOL, it sucks bad when you actually start to get ahead a little and put a few bucks into your pockets the goverment comes along (more gas tax) and turns you upside down and shakes it out of your pockets.......

Don't know if it's a coincidence, but prices of oil drop every year that the union bargining contract is to be negotiated.

Enlighten us all with a bit more information, what specific union contract are you referring to?
Contract year for big oil and union workers. I think it happens every three or four years. But it seems every contract time the price of oil drops and comes right back after all is settled and the union workers can't ask for much more then they already get due to the price of oil being down. Oil company's claim the last 30 billion they made may not be easily made in the future. I don't sit on the union committee but I hear alot of hoopla. I'm sure theres more to it then just that but kinda fishy anyway.

Maybe gas will come down to .29 cents and your wages to $1.99 if you keep listening to the BS..

ive been in the oil patch since 04 and there are so many things that affect the oil prices its unreal but typically you see a drop in oil every election year and at the end of every year. oil is always more expensive in the summer time. but there is not a whole lot i can say about why it is as low as it is right now.

im glad everyone is excited that gas prices are cheap and i dont mind that i just wish it would level off

up here its sitting at 0.899 cents a litre which after all the math works out to $3.40 a gallon.
Our tax is about 31% of the pump price. or .40 cents a litre. ( 1 gallon = 3.78 litres)

2.08 per gallon here in Northeast Arkansas, it sure feels good to fill up with a $20.00 bill again .

from what I understand, the whole thing is being caused by egypt ( spellng) dropping crude prices, they have done it every so often to kill the american oil business, as far back as I can remember!

I doubt very much Egypt has the ability to affect crude prices one way or another. They're not a major oil-producing nation.

Paid 3.29 for Diesel yesterday in Blaine, WA

I heard on the news Opec is not going to cut production in 2015...

Read a few articles that mentioned OPEC IE: Saudi Arabia have cranked up production. Supply and demand go together and the price drops.

Now Russia based paying their debt down the the barrel of oil near the $100 mark. The Saudi's on the other hand can still make a profit with prices around $50 per barrel.

Prior to the price drops the sanctions against Russia seemed to have little effect with oil up around $85. Now the price drops plus the sanctions already in price and Russia is in economic trouble imagine that.

Not to mention the U.S and Saudi Arabia have always had their political ties... tin foil hat time?

I think Diesle was $2.80 ish the other day, yeah I saw where the OPEC big wig said he didnt care if it went down to $20 a barrel ??

Just when the gas and diesel prices drop. Now the tax per gallon is going up at the beginning of the year here in PA.
