Finished Moving leaf springs inboard 3 inches and rear end back 1.5 and now we're getting ready to fab up the shock mounts. I already ordered hotchkis fox non adjustables and was Trying to figure out if I should try to keep the shocks close to a factory angle or not. Maybe less of an angle to compensate for more body roll with leafs moved in? Also wondering if anyone knows what the factory angle is at right height and if there is any angle in the shock from front to rear. All going in a 72 dart built for street use. Thanks.

If you use the factory upper location for the shock mount you may need to compensate for angles in two directions, and consider spherical bearings in lieu of rubber or poly bushings in the eyelets of the shocks.

also consider the more angle in the shock, the less dampning it will do.

The straighter/more perpendicular you can get it, the more efficiently the shock can work to dampen the vibrations/bouncing. Or at least match the stock angles.

Using the upper factory mount I wouldn't even think would be an option considering the rear end Is moved back but this is my first time doing this so I'm not 100% about anything lol! I guess I'm basically going to be moving the upper mount back 1.5 inches to keep the angle front to back as close to stock as I can. Just not sure if I should mess with the inward angle at all or find out what the stock angle is and put it there.

that would make perfect sense to me....

just wondering.....why is the rear located 1.5" rearward?....stretching the wheel base or making room for larger diameter tires?

Big tires, it's more work than I originally wanted to do but the set up was free from a buddy, ford 9 inch cut to lenght with cop wheels and MT 29x12.5. I also liked the looks of the wheel more centered and figured might as well do it since we're moving the leaf springs anyways and the rms boxes had the hole in it already.

Would anyone happen to know or possibly be able to check on there car what the factory angle is? It would be a huge help, thanks.
