I just mounted 15x6 Cragar SS wheels on my '65 Barracuda that originally had 13" rims. I found that the Cragar #61654 15x6 (5 on 4" bc) wheels with 3.375" back spacing, and 205/60R-15 tires cleared everything and ride & look great. You can also fit Cragar 15x7's with 4-1/8" bs on the rear with bigger tires, but not on the front. If you go with any larger diameter tires on the front, they will hit the bottom of the lower front fender in front of the wheel. The car looked like a Matchbox car with the 13" rims, now it looks like a muscle car! The wheels cost about $168 each, the Coopers are about $100 each. Jegs will mount and balance them free!

Looks great! Nothing like Cragar's, especially on red. Tmm

I'm getting ready to buy tires for my 65 Dart. I already have my wheels. I have a set of 4 Cragar SS 15x6 and also a pair of Cragar SS 14x6.

My current plan is to put the 14" wheels on the front with 215/60/14 tires. I will put the 15" wheels on the back with 215/60/15 tires. This will give me some additional rake but will maintain equal sidewall height front to back.

My front tire diameter will be 1/2" smaller than yours. My rear tire diameter will 1/2" larger than yours. The width will be .4" wider than yours front and rear.

Do you think this combination will fit without rubbing? I assume the clearances are the same between a Dart and Barracuda.

If I stepped up to 225/60/15 on the rear would I still be OK on the 15x6 wheels, or would I need the extra backspacing?

I actually have 215/60R-15's on the rear, they are a 1/2" larger D but it is hardly noticeable (and they nicked the LF fender when I tried them up front). That's why I went with 205/60R-15's up front. I recommend using 15" wheels on the front also because the chrome really catches your eye and the 14's look noticeably smaller. You can put an even larger tire on the rear, just stay within the tire manufacturers recommended rim widths. I looked up 225/70R-15 Coopers and they can be mounted on your 6" wheels. Cooper recommends a 6"-7.5" rim. Bob

That's a great looking car the old school craiger look sweet ! Is that a locking gas cap on your ride ?

I'm another big fan of Cragar S/S on early A Bodies. I had them on my car in 14" and replaced them with 15" Torq Thrust Ds, which I like too, just not as well. Your car looks fantastic!

Yup, that's a old style locking gas cap on the Barracuda. I like the smooth chrome accent against the red paint. I'm also adding an engine picture showing the dress up items on the 273 engine. Four barrel D4B manifold, Ebrock 500 cfm AVS, Jegs electronic ignition conversion, Mopar polished valve covers, Dual master cylinder and power booster. It doesn't go any faster, but looks much better!

That's a nice looking ride all around and I'm going to grab one of those caps peel the sticker off and keep it all chrome . The car we bought for my daughter has a generic cap that looks like crap . I never would have thought to get one and didn't know they still sold them . Saw hanging in Pepboys . Thanks for the idea .
