So I'm intending on cramming a pair of 17x8s up under the back of my '64 Dart 2dr sedan. The tires are 245/40R17s.

The rear suspension currently consists of a 8.25" Abody rear end with the 10"drums, Espo 2" drop leaf springs and adjustable front spring hangers. Otherwise, everything is stock.

Anybody ever run a similar setup?!

I'm running 275 40 17 on the back of a 65 cuda with the stock wheel wells. But I have my springs moved inboard. You'll have to watch your rim offset to get 8 inch rims to fit.
Not a Dart but an early A.

Front rims are Chrome Bullitt Wheel Mustang 94-04 (17x8 )

Rear rims are Chrome Bullitt Wheel Mustang 94-04 (17x9) the rear rims are +24mm with a 5.95 back space.

I'm also running rear disc kit from Wilwood, Not sure if it changes the offset if at all.

I just put a set of american racing Torq Thrust on my 66 Cuda.
A-Body 8.75" Rear end, 4 wheel disc brakes, all stock suspension

Front 17X7 with 4" Backset 215/45/17's
Rear 17X9 with 5.8 Backset 245/45/17's

Front has plenty of room and back has all that will fit under the fenders.
The rear rim/tire clearance on the spring is about 1/4".
Tire to fender is about 1/2"

No Rubbing so far

Rustymoore, looks good! More detailed pics would be good. How close is the rear tire to the front of the fender well?

More to come

All 8.25"s were 5x4.5" bolt pattern.

Anyway, I test fit a rim today without the tire. There is plenty of clearance! Over an inch to the leaf spring and 1.5" to the wheel lip!

That style of rim looks really good on the old Dart!

Are you putting the same rim on the front?

I like the look. I am a fan of 64's. Tincup here on FABO did a ultra cool 63 Dart. Search his posts for more info. tmm

Yeah, it's getting the same in 17x7s up front. Thought about 17x8s up front, but it looks like it'll be a little tight.
