2nd try? On the cheap friendly comp?

Check out my build thread.
Would my car qualify to be a good candidate for this?
I built it with mostly used parts minus some safety items like brakes.......
The safety side of this should not be compromised in anyway shape or form. Brakes are not part of the "GO fast" side of this idea. But it should be addressed and upgraded if you think it a good idea. That cost is not a factor in the "Go fast for cheap"idea.
I have yet to baseline the car, and the nearest track is about 100 miles from me.
The clutch is weak, but i got a new centerforce clutch for it for Christmas, does ''gifted'' parts count?
Gifted parts from Christmas, birthday or won in a card game or a game of chicken or dare are not a problem.
Do parts you acquire through trading count?
Trade parts? why not.
I would like the rules to not include nitrous, but cheap tubos and blowers allowed.
Interesting though. I kind of agree. Though, if you do have it already, do us all a favor and give us a before and after run on and off the juice.
Turbo's and Blowers are cheap? Good, get me one if you use one or don't bother posting in the go fast cheap thread. Theres no such thing as a cheap turbo or blower. If you point to e-gag for the cheap turbos there, I disagree on them actually being a real turbo.

Blowers and turbo's are out.

Bolt on and modified parts from what you have already if i understand correctly.
I do have LOTS of used parts like headers etc. if i choose to use them. Maybe enough to go big block if i want.

Yep, the idea is bolt on parts. Used, gifted, traded, given, dirt cheap swap meet parts. GREAT!
If you need a new part, then you need a new part.
I have about 5 grand into the car as it sits.
Let the games begin?
Tom.

I think There HAS to be a set price that the car needs to fit under like a set price you cant go over building it or if you already built it

No set price, but the idea is cheap. As close to no buck as you can get. Show us what you can do with as little cash as possible.

JMO but I like having this concept of rules (maybe different rules but same layout) to go buy and a set price ... maybe? I saw some people talking about aluminum heads and stuff in the past thread and I think it should just stay simple

I'll post the list/rules later.
I myself do not consider aluminum heads cheap. Perhaps bang for the buck they pay off, but the cash outlay of Edelbrocks is up to what? Approx. $800 each from Summit. $1600 for the set. Then off to a shop for a check out. This is not cheap.
