I just found out last night that a family friend and A body enthusiast Rick Hauver had past away. This man was a good friend of my fathers and was a very wise man in the mechanics of Mopars. He was a very avid drag racer running a 69 dart with an Indy motor. He was a regular back in the day at 75/80 dragway in Urbana MD when I was young and my dad was the announcer. Winning many rounds and many Top Dogs, he was always a contender. When I was putting my dart together he was there for the motor break in and with his ear he told me "Mark you have to much timing" and when I shut my dart off it puked water out of my radiator with out a cap all over him. With no fuss we continued on. When he retired from the working force he got his pilots license and be came a very good pilot. I will miss you my friend. Rest in peace Tricky Ricky.

Sad to hear....

He sounds like a great guy.

RIP

Condolences to the family and friends.

r.i.p. ricky and prayers for his family. gotta be tough this time of year to lose someone like that :(

I'll be thinking of Ricky wrenching on the way cool rides he'll be seeing now! May he rest in peace and may you and all of his friends and family be blessed with peace and comfort during this time of remembrance! Geof

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. My dad passed away many years ago at the age of 47. He and Rik worked and raced together. With Riks passing it brings back a lot of fond memories from my child hood when they would hang out in the shop and tell stories. Once they made a bet, a nice steak dinner, that you could spread the cylinder walls on a bare block by hand. My dad said no way..... well he lost. Or the time it was freezing cold out and they had a six pack of beer outside. My brother went out to pee and he pissed all over the six pack. Upon getting beers for the both of them they put the cans to there mouth and tasted piss, asking my brother why he pissed on the beer he said "The devil made him do it". Ahh yes the things that come back to mind with the lose of a freind lots of good memories.
