One other thing that I did a while back is put all of each type of junk in a quart ziploc bag. Screws in one, markers in another, etc. I still dig through it, but when I need something, I'm digging through large bags of similar items. I end up taking the whole bag out to find exactly what I want and then when I'm done, the bag ends up getting tossed back into the drawer. Saves me a lot of headache without having to spend a lot of time finding new homes for all of the junk and it has yet to become disorganized, a half of a year later or so.
