We're using stock '73 340 exhaust manifolds in my daughter's 318 Duster. We don't have any of the original hardware to bolt them to the heads. I know we can get studs and bolts at the hardware store, but what about the conical washers? Are they necessary? If so, any idea where to get them?

Thanks,
Ken

Definitely necessary, unless you like cracked manifolds...

They allow the manifold to move and slide with thermal expansion.

My FSM states that the conical washer are not installed on the center arms of the Manifold. (only the outer 4 studs/screws get them).
Is there another take on this? or just follow the book?
Thanks

only the outer 4 studs/screws get them is correct. If you buy new studs make sure you the hardened grade.

I picked up a whole set from Partsmix.com. Just got them in today and they are the correct ones.
Thanks for the clarification on the washers. I got 12 in the kit. gotta love spares.
