We fought and fought and fought to get the body lines right on the rear quarters. When it was all said and done we had 180 hours into wet sanding the damn things.

I also put a 2nd coat of POR15 on the floor before the courtesy coat of blue.

We finally got the lines to where we liked them and started masking for sealer and paint!

We did under the trunk and in the car with a single stage of the color we're going to do the outside with.

Threw the tire on quick.

Once the body set up over the weekend while we traveled for Christmas, we moved it to the front of the garage so I could start on the interior while my dad painted the body panels. Now we only had 1 week left since I was home for 2 weeks total before I went back down to NC.

I continued to assemble the car in the front while he did the hood, grill and other odds and ends in the booth.

I paid way to much money for the fiberglass hood and after all that we had to do quite a bit of work to make it fit. The holes didnt line up at all for my hinges. And once we got them to there wasnt enough adjustment so slide the hood forward so we had to do even more work to the hood. I was pretty disappointed and very frustrated since it was the last night we had before getting up at 4am to drive to NC and things werent going very well.

Once we finally got everything to fit, here are the pictures of the car while we loaded it.

Heres the car once we got to NC. Still needs some little things like headlights and all the parts of the door put on. I also have some good videos of the car I will upload tonight. The 1" lowering blocks really made the stance look mean.

awesome build man. so all you needed to run that wheel and tire is the 3/4 offset? also how thick are your wheel spacers? again great build.

Yeah the leaf spring relocation kit and the 3/16 wheel spacer.

Relocation components:

These are the spacers I bought:

I really didnt need much as the tires didnt actually touch the leaf springs. I was only about an 1/16" away and those spacers are about 3/16" so with them in it worked out quite well. I did however buy a little bit longer wheel stud because of the spacer and the thickness of the wheel.

thanks for the info. i am building a 73 duster that i put a 72 duster frontend on. for now i will be useing M/T 275/60/15 ET street Radial pros and want to go to some weld 15x10 prostars. i was going to move the springs in 3 inches both sides. but i think i would do it this way untill i get the money saved up to put a ladder bar dana 60 under it. so how was the spring reloaction job? i think you have one awesome looking car and if my painter didnt allready have the red paint that i painted my car a blue like yours was. mine is getting the engine out of my dart.

oh sorry for got to ask with the rearend down a inch how close is the side of the tire to the outer wheel well?

Thanks!! That blue is Dodge Viper Blue. And it is really a beautiful blue in person. The shackle kit was really simple. The brackets practically bolted in. I did have to open up the hole on the frame for the nut thats welded on the bracket to fit. That will make more sense once you have the bracket. And then the perches are just welding and measuring.

your car looks awesome! thanks for sharing the pics. that blue with those coy wheels looks great. i bet it really pops in the sunlight

Thanks for the info if i ever repaint my 73 duster i would like to paint it the color blue that is on the PT cruiser. also when you have time can you check your outer fender to tire clearance. my 73 dart has the weld drag lights, but i like the looks of the weld pro stars better. that's why i am wanting to change mine. also mine is going to be a race car mostly that i might sneak a pass down the highway once in a while.n what are you going to do with yours? again sorry for bothering you and best of luck to you. would like to see a pick of it in the sun when you get it all put back together.

when you you have time is there any chance i could see this side shot of your car in daylight?
i would really appreciate it :)

Great job! Car looks beautiful.

I love the story with the State trooper. Classic!

Thanks!

Mopar I'll take a look at the wheel well spacing when I get a minute sometime this week hopefully. This car will mostly be just something to raise hell with on the road. I have that GT45 turbo to throw in there as well but I decided i'd enjoy the car this coming summer and work all the bugs out of it while I gather parts for the turbo build.

This is the only picture I have from the side outside currently Fez but I'll take another once I get out on the road.

thank you very much sir. Turbo? that sounds like fun. I would like to twin turbo my 440.

I seam to have miss placed my head light rings that hold the headlights in the car. Is it just a chrome ring? Or is there an actual bucket that the headlight sits in and the chrome ring screws to that? Then that whole assembly screws to the grill?

Does anyone have any of these laying around from a parts car?

Thanks Fez! I'll take a look at those.

I still need to put turn downs on the tail pipes, ordered them this morning. I cut them behind the bumper so you cant see them but now the air leaving the tailpipes are bouncing off the back of the bumper and making it sound funny.

Got the exhaust on!

Still not tuned 100% yet, but slowly getting there!
