keep em coming
so far theres a distinct pointer towards mid to late 10's as a average for a well built 340/360
and high 9's for a unknown build.

in the Uk im getting the opposite reactions, im getting averages of high 12's to low 13's as very best???

so gears and stall have been a benefactor in the very quick cars, along with stock lift and duration.

Im gona start a new thread, where people can add that info, hope this sounds ok.

Hi, I used to run a '71 340 Cuda, all steel in the 80's at S-Pod, when I bought the car it was running 13.3's with a stock 340, 10.3:1, +.484" purple cam, 727 with shift kit, B&M S/Holeshot verter, 3.55 gears and 8x26 slicks.

I added a DC .590 solid cam, 850dp, 4.30 gears, Manual 727, 4200 verter, 10x28's and went a best of [email protected], stock front susp. with worn shocks, stock springs with a snubber. I guess there was a lot of time in that car with ported heads, more verter and gears/rpm as I only went to aroud 6500, getting some weight off would've been a plus!
