It is time I addressed the mufflers in my Demon. They are Flowmaster 40's and when I had the 360, although they were loud, they were not obnoxious. Now that I have the blown 340 the exhaust is so loud I might as well run open headers. I would kind of like to cut the noise in half, the 120 db's is way to much. Maybe get it down to the 90 db range but maybe try to keep some of the performance. WHAT DO YOU GUY'S SUGGEST? Sorry for yelling, but it's loud here. lol

I have the Dynomax Super Turbos on two of my cars and like them.

Pretty quiet idle, and will rumble when revved....

I like the more quiet type, not the loud Flowmaster sound....

x2 on that option. Very quiet when idling and cruising.

So you put a BIG air pump on top of your motor than complain because it makes your car to loud!! God I wish I had that problem Jack! LOL

Hey Jack, Are running headers or stock manifolds? I have the same issue with noise, but mostly because everyone living within a few houses of mine say my car is to load at 5am. So taking it to work is an issue. I'm running headers and am looking for muffler options that will not kill the horse power.

If you were local, I'd trade you the Magnaflows that came on my Duster. I'm a Flowmaster fan.

I have a Spintech Pro Street Muffler on my Ford Ranger V6 and I like how it sounds. I've thought about going that route on the Duster too.

Have you considered Borla XS mufflers? I like them on my car. A freind talked me into them as he put them on his strongly built Mustang. He originally had Flowmasters, then pu on a set of Magnaflows and then the Borlas. He's a safety trainer for a coal mine so he had easy access to a docimeter. The Flowmasters measured 84db at idle, the Magnaflows were 83 at idle and the Borlas were 81. High rpm the Flomasters were 117db, the Magnaflows were 115 and the Borlas were 110db. The similarity in decibles between the Flowmasters and the Magnaflows is surprising because the Flowmasters seemed much louder and annoying. The Magnaflows sounded pretty good and I liked how the thing sounded until he put the Borlas on it and then I wanted Borlas for my car. Now he wants to try the 19" cased Borlas!

I'f it's too loud your to old

ya, what he said! solution, get younger neighbors! seriously, I put those little bullit mufflers (3 1/2")on my 505" wedge, then inserted 3 1/2" spiral cores about 1/2 way in them and spot welded them in while building the exhaust system all 3 1/2" , seemed to be quieter than flowmasters, all though I haven`t ran it much yet---bob

Dynomax ultra flo's here also. I recommend them to everyone. I had the super turbos for maybe a month and ripped them off. Too quiet and very restrictive, car had no pep with them on. Really woke up with the ultra flo's and sound good too. Flowmasters are too much noise !

I have headers and an "X" pipe. All 2 1/2 inch pipes. My problem isn't the neighbours, it's the wife. The drone on the highway does get to you after a while.

If we could fit a long 28" muffler on our cars the solution would be easy BUT.....

Hey,C Jack, do you run the exhaust to the rear bumper?

I'm running a pair of Pype's Race Pros (and X-pipe) which is a straight through design like the Dyno UltraFlo. Not bad. The Pypes Violator is way too loud and ratty for my taste. Both have quite a bark when you get on it. I might try the Dyno Super Turbo if it has a little deeper tone - which I presume it does.

flowmasters super 10's good stuff... maybe too loud.

any one have an opinion or good comparison to super flowmaster 10's vs. the dynomax super turbos? which is better with better sound?
