Hi All...A question from Australia.

Trying to learn more about the black ribbed trim on the backend of the trunk on 69 Dodge Dart GT's. I'm assuming the top and bottom stainless trims are separate to the black ribbed central piece as in the picture attached, is that correct? Our locally assembled Valiant hard tops only had the upper and lower trim pieces and were painted silver between them on high spec models.

That photo looks correct to me.

Thanks for the reply but the question was are the horizontal top and bottom stainless trims separate to the ribbed black trim with the single bright horizontal line in the middle or is the whole thing one piece ? Sorry might not have made that clear.

Actually the car pictured is not mine I uploaded that as an example. I've attached my actual car on this post. The Australian built Dart equivalent.

Now I see why you were asking. The North American Dart trunk finish panel, is probably the same size, but has a series of lines embossed across it. Also our back up lights are in the taillights.

What your seeing in the silver section is paint only and the top and bottom horizontal stainless trim pieces are seperate to one another not one piece like the Dodge Dart GT. A cost cutting way of producing a similiar look perhaps from Chrylser Australia.

The one I have for my 69 GTS (same as GT) is all one piece and is all aluminum.
