Well Friday has come and gone. Went in to see the specialist (plastic surgeon ) in regards to my tumour on my nose..Hes as personable as a stump with moss and swamp scum on top. Anyway. He took out a chunk the size of a jelly bean, the only thing my wife could see was the front of my left nostril..........Hangin. She was amazing and suportive and didnt take no crap. Ive got a ton of stitches and a nose carl mulden would be proud of and it hurts like hell. PLEASE everyone, look at yourself and if something dont look right or wasnt there before! Get it checked, hell double checked. Thankfully i will be fine in time but it could have been alot worse. The sun aint like it was when we were kids.......Sunblock! what the hell is that?If you cant do it for yourself, do it for your family, for me. God Bless

It will heal in no time.

Everybody has always said my face don't look right. But I keep tellin um there's nuthin anybody can do.

Ha, I'm in the same place !! But seriously , my Father in Law spent many years in the sun at the farm and had a lot of issues with the same thing . It was not pretty!!

Im glad you got it taken care of! The important thing is your health. Hoping you recover fast and the scars heal nicely

Thanks, as long as its gone that all im concerned with. I have approx. 20 stiches internal and out. Just starting to see well out of the left eye due to all the swelling. Man the nose is a tender spot

yes, the sun causes lots of trouble for skin. we older guys didn,t ( I for sure) realize the problems with sunburn at our younger age. everyone, young and older should use good sun screen for sure!!!!!!

I have to go to dermatologist every six months, was there today getting the "freeze".
keep your nose outta the ditches and the bears outta of ya britches....

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better and on the mend!

Thanks for making these threads Ed!

Because of these threads, I went to the Dr. today to have a couple spots checked out. I have one on my right leg and another in the middle of my back that my doctor is a little concerned about. I am going to get an appiontment with a surgeon and have them both removed. My doc says it is a quick procedure.... in and out. I'm hoping for the best and will feel better knowing they will be gone and not have a chance to turn in to cancer.

Thanks again for the thread.... and anyone else out there who has ANY concerns.... GET IT CHECKED OUT! Early detection can save your life!!

That looks a little tinder. My Dad has had to have things froze or cut off on his head and fore arms a lot due to working out in the sun most of his life. Sun screen is good!

Wow, I'm sure glad all of you will be OK!

Another question that I'll get resolution to in
March when I get my annual physical at the
local VA clinic but for now I'm curious about
any thoughts you guys have.

I'm 61 and have 3 red spots on one side of
my mug. Biggest is about the size of the head of
a pencil eraser, the other 2 are smaller. They don't
hurt but are kind of itchy.
I thought it was just razor burn but they haven't gone
away and I've had them several years.
They haven't grown in all this time either.
Of course I'll get them eyeballed but do anybody
of you have similar spots?

I have one on my back. It gets itchy as well. I think its been there for about ten years? Nothing has changed. It might have been a scar that collected some other deposits. Sometimes they can be simple calcium deposits or other types of malignant/ non-cancerous spots. As long as you don't see growth or spreading, its usually not a big worry, but a good idea to have a biopsy if you are worried.

X2......If its something you are unsure of get it looked at. This tiny spot was burned off approx. 6 to 7 years ago. It came back slowly I always kind of picked it off. Then about a year and a half it came back and stayed and then grew some. The problem I have found out is the underlying tissue that you don't see.......It can be big . Get it checked, a peace of mind goes along way
