The problem with seller feedback ratings...ABUSERS

I see some of you have already figured it out.. Darrell, aka "blewbyu" was the seller.

To anyone selling parts here on FABO.. Just be realistic with your description of the item you're selling. Of course the major majority of the sellers here do just that. In fact, one of my most recent purchases here was an emblem that the seller described as having "some pitting". I purchased the emblem and was very happy with it. The pitting was barely noticeable. I emailed him to thank him, he said he just wanted to make sure I wasn't disappointed with the condition after it's arrival.

BUT, when someone describes something as being better than it actually is, how is the buyer going to be anything but dissatisfied with his purchase? The transaction is doomed at that point. I honestly wouldn't have given $50 bucks for these if I had seen the actual condition of them.

I had an ad in the "parts wanted" section and was contacted by blewbyu with an offer to sell me a pair of original dual scoops from a '70 Dart. He sent me a link to his ad: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=288852

Now as you can see, his pics were a little blurry, so I had him give a description of the scoops. Here is the dialog from my PM box for anybody that wants to see it:

no cracks breaks and all studs in tact, trust me this is a great price for them, i do not think you will find a set this good for this money
$38.00 to ship and insure them, let me know.

thanks Darrell
I guess I'll do it. Thanks. PayPal address?
pay pal is [email protected], if you could send as freinds and family so no fees please. Also please send your complete name and address and i will ship out first thing Monday.

thanks Darrell
Got the scoops today. I'm not happy with them, there are two missing studs. One on the scoop itself, and one of the studs on the emblem.

Mark
Sorry your not happy, they are not brand new,They are used scoops and they are only 44 years old. but all studs were in place as seen in the pics i had of them. No studs were missing when they left make sure it did not break in shipping and in the bottom of the box and yes one stud was missing on the 340 badge. Send them back if your not happy and i will gladdy refund you the purchase price. Trust me you will not buy any for that price any better.
Yes Darrell, I will send them back then. I'm aware of the fact that they are over 40 years old. But you convinced me that they were in great shape, and they're not. And now you're telling me that you knew that one of the studs was missing on the 340 badge?? I specifically asked you about the condition prior to sending you the money... no mention of the missing stud(s) Plus, the scoops aren't anywhere near the condition you lead me to believe.
Come on really, all the studs were in tact that mounts the scoops and that is what i stated, that 340 badge ani't going no where send them back ASAP
Darrell, I'm not angry, just simply not happy with the purchase. I paid you your asking price, plus the $38 shipping, additionally, I added in all the PayPal fees so that you wouldn't get hit with them.

How do you propose we proceed? I believe the fairest way, and what PayPal guidelines suggest, would be for you to refund me the amount I have paid you, plus shipping back to you. ($3 I'll tell you what I will do, is eat the return shipping myself. That way, both of us are out $38 and you will have your scoops back, and I'll continue looking for another set.

My PayPal address is [email protected]

Thanks

Mark
Please send pictures of the area's of the scoops you are refering to to my e mail at [email protected]

Thanks
Darrell, Not sure why you need the pics, but I'll get you some. I left the scoops at my office, so I can't get the pics to you until tomorrow.

Mark
Tomorrows fine just want to see what was the problem with them.
Pictures have been sent to your email as requested. As you can see, there are two missing studs, one on the scoop itself, and on the other one it is the emblem stud broken off. I have them all boxed up with additional packing / protection, ready to ship.

I want to express my appreciation for your eagerness in getting this taken care of. Please let me know when I can ship; I'll take care of it ASAP.

Mark
I sent you an e mail asking if the missing stud for the scoop was in the box and I never heard from you, please advise if the stud is in the box?

Thanks
Sorry Darrell, I checked closely, it's not in the box.
Ok so all we need to do to solve this problem is get another stud to screw into the scoop base and another 340 badge and it's fixed. I have another 340 emblem here and will look for a stud to screw into the scoop. Since it is only those 2 little items to make them right. The only other option would make a claim with the shipper for the missing stud which must have fell out of the box from their handling of the box as you can see from the pictures i original sent you all studs were intack. I have no reason to remove the studs. Please make sure it is not caught up in the packing they were wrapped in.

Thanks
No Darrell, I'm not willing to keep them. They are not as described, plain and simple. Please refund ASAP so I can get them back to you.

Mark
Darrell, this needs to be taken care of SOON. Please get back to me with your intentions. You agreed that the best resolution is for me to send them back for a refund. That is my intention and I need you to refund my money. I'm filing a claim with PayPal if you don't take care of this right away.

As you can see, he stopped communicating with me, and I needed to get it resolved, so on to PayPal to file the claim. They made him refund my money, and he got the scoops back. I will look for a couple pictures that I took of the scoops and post them up in a little bit.
