Now it`s DUB...

Hi guys thanks for all your opinions I really appreciated it!!
I`ll try to answer most of the comments in one shot.

Yes, I`m a young man with new ideas and ready to definitely charting new territory....in my particular opinion is possible customize a car with out spend a lot of money (depends what you want of course). In my case I don`t want a car show and yes a car that makes me happy when I look it inside my garage or when I drive it.

Ferstival my plan was put the dual snorkel scoop but it cost over #300.00...second option was the cowl induction but I didn`t that because I don`t want someone calls my car "chevy duster"...this way I decided to put the pro stock scoop...it was free and for me looks pretty nice.

I respect everyone that enjoys old school style (I love it too) but I preferred to do something a little bit unusual for this reason 20 inch rims ...I like the mix about modern muscle and classic in the same time.... I`ll drop the car down a little bit in future, I`m sure the car will looks better.

Answer the member "1970 Duster": I don`t have too much experience with classic cars, I`m still learning those tricks...the easy way for me put the 20 inch rims was with the wheels spacers adapters....it fits perfect !

I decided to combine everything black and orange... another way to makes the car looks great with out spend a lot of money... a pair of chrome bumper are over $900 bucks.. I spent less than $25 with automotive spray paint ans I repainted the bumpers by myself....in general (black hood, black bumpers, black rims and the black stripes on the car looks great for me).

Answer the member "Brad4406": I did a little work at the front lip on the front fender"...it was something around 2 inches.

Answer the member "pauly v.100": I drive the car..the only difference it`s a little bit uncomfortable like was with the original rims because now it has tires with low profile.

The angle of the pictures are weird, the front rims are not out of the front fenders.

Thanks for the comments guys I enjoyed it !!!

Not a fan of the scoop, and prefer the look of 18's in the front when 20's are used out back. I would also lower the front. That being said, I really appreciate someone that tries something different. I also really like the color scheme and graphics.

As soon as I read DUB in the heading I knew you were gonna get pounded. A lot of guys here prefer OG style and the Pro Touring look is at the edge of acceptability. Consider that there is a thread on here dedicated to making fun of bigger wheels.

If you dig it, Its all good. It sounds like you have a good attitude. Good luck on your future mods.

didn`t read all the posts. but the monkey and the wheels suck! when you drive it, look around, everyone will be laughing at you instead of admiring it !!

Nice work young man! It looks unique and with your budget, your approach is perfect. Everybody will try and convince you they have a better solution.

Remember, opinions are like a$$holes and everyone has one, good, bad or indifferent.

Can you take some more pictures with the car on level ground? As an inexpensive temporary solution maybe raise the rear end, and really piss all the old men in hear who are stuck in the sixties..... it may give you a new look that makes you happy.

Good luck and keep up the hard work.
Hammer:cheers:

If those are aluminum spacers, you will need to periodically and regularly check their tightness against the hubs and the wheels tightness against them.

Hi guys I appreciated the feedback !!! follow the answers below:

LIME TWIST DART: I`m with you man, I have good attitude and I won`t care for negative feedback. The most important is be happy with the car I drive doesn`t matter if people will admire it or not since I`m proud.

HammerMX: I totally agree - opinions are like a$$holes and everyone has one, good, bad or indifferent.

When I have chance I`ll take more pictures with the car on level ground, I just don`t that today because there is a lot of snow outside.

RustyRoad: You Are correct because there are too much stress between the wheels spacers adpters, the rims and the hubs.

Next step is to drop the car a little bit...back and front.. :)

The only point guys, I think those people that doesn`t like something can be more polite to explain their opinion instead be rude or act like a teenager.

I will say this about it. I am REAL happy that you have fixed up an older American car. Regardless of your choice of style, it beats the **** outta a Honda or ANY other rice burnin POS. Kudos to you for breakin that mold. Just because some of us may not like the choice of style certainly doesn't mean we don't respect the overall picture of what you're doing. I'd cruise with you anytime.

I'm with you RRR, I'm not a great fan of the 20's on an old car but if we all did the same thing we'd have nothing to talk about!

"..but I will bash people that build imports". :jocolor:

"..but a donk Duster is a new fresh idea."

I like your grouchy *** old fart style man!

No, I didn't say it was fresh. I actually said it was disgusting. That doesn't mean I don't respect his format he's using.

Ok, who the hell is this and what did you do with Rob?

The 20's aren't the problem. The backspace on those rims is all wrong. The car would look a lot better lowered, but I doubt that's going to work. Based on the backspace those wheels aren't going to clear the fenders or the quarters if it's lowered any from the current ride height. 255's and a 4.5" backspace is going to rub, plain and simple. Not sure how wide those wheels are, but I would bet you need at least a 5.25" backspace to run those 255's inside the fenders. The backspace on the 275/35/18's on the front of my Duster is 6.1".

Personally I think the 20's are too big for the front, I think an 18/20 combo works well because you can match the sidewalls by running a taller tire out back. That way you can keep the front wheels and ~26" tall and avoid cutting the front corner back so much. That allows a 27 or 28" tall tire out back, and you can lower the car enough to tuck the wheels into the fenders, which is what looks good with the larger rims.

Thanks for the feedback 72bluNblu !! All this information is very important to me because I really want to drop the baby down.....with out dmage the fenders...tires...etc...

A hemi super stock scoop is $89.00. Your ride height is adjustable by turning the bolts inside the bottom of the lower control arms. What some of the members are saying is drop the front end down some so the car doesn't look like a 4x4. I realize the scoop was free, but that doesn't mean it had to go on your car. For the price of the wheel spacers you could've got a cool scoop. I don't even want to think about the music coming out of the speakers in there.

I find nothing wrong with 20s on muscle cars . Car looks really good I would swap good for a hemi or 6pack hood and dump car as low as clearance allows Not my first choice of wheels but your car forget what everyone else says Just don't swap a Chevy motor in it lol

Congratulations sir, after over six months, your thread has brought me out of hiding!

Gotta say, absolutely hate the rims. The rest of the car is fantastic though! That said mine has a lot of front end damage and isn't currently driveable so take my opinion for what it is.

I love your positive attitude and I'm excited to see somebody else my from my generation is getting into these old cars, get ready to find though that no matter how you do them, they aren't cheap. Out of curiosity, how old are you?

Where the heck have you been, DORK? Give me a shout and lets catch up. How are you and the family? Tell them all we said hay.

Y'know, I was just about to jump in with something sarcastic about that look when I read this post.
Mr. Bazoo, you're a great sport and I REALLY appreciate your positive attitude, even if I'm not a fan of the one your car has.
You worked with what you have, did the best job you could with the resources available and saw your vision through...and then you shook off the naysayers with class and dignity.
Good job, my friend. I think you've got an outstanding future ahead.
