Moved rear end back 1.5

-
I moved my pin on my leafs 1" rearward. Abodies only hav 20" front segments on the leaf and the longer the front half is. The easier it is to tune a softer hit on the tire drag racing. Mopars kill the tire with the short front segment. Mine is now 21" front. Still mounted in the stock mounting locations with the 7/8s offset 275/60x15 on an 8" wheel. Not slammed but gonna sit as low as i can get it. The pic below is with 1.5 drop block and ive fot a 2" drop an an extra 1inch adjustment hole i can put it further down when im ready. Drive way is slanded downwards so it looks a bit funny. Car is also minitubbed not stretched inner wells fully minitubbed.

Old pic but its the only one i have that has its actual ride height with an engine in it and on the ground rolling.

Really like the stance on your car turbofreek. What did you do to get the rear to sit that low?

I have offset hangers. They adjust the front eye by up to 3 inches and i have 1.5 inch drop blocks. Also its a 9" rear end not a mopar rearend. Rear end is totally aftermarket and the leaf blocks are not stock style. They probably offer an extra inch or so more drop than stock i assume. Mini tubbed the back by removing the complete factory wheel well for sheet metal. Allows the tire to go further upwards than the stock well would have.

I'm running a 9 inch also mini tubbed with espo -1 springs. I have the inner tub cut out, just Waiting to get car at ride height and then I will decide if I'm going to just widen the stock tubs or go aftermarket.

I removed mine because they are not strait vertical. They leaned in and covered a tall or wide tire. So it could not be lower than all the 4x4 stance darts you see in this thread. I will not own a hotrod that sits as high as a modern suv. Not ever happening. I wont even give more than a glance to one either. Its a pet peave of mine. Low and lean makes it mean. My back sewt is still usable as well and i could go lower by 8 inches i bet.

I definitely like the looks of a dart much better with a lower stance, maybe not with as much passion as you lol! I would like to get the lip of the quarter panel at least even with the top of the wheel.

Its more of a mopar peave than any other. The only factory ride adjustable vehicles and they all sit like they need kc lights mounted on the roof. It baffles my mind and irritates the **** out of me. Dont know why honestly but i just cant bare to stare even if i want to. Some cars that would be in another stratusphere with just some lowering love. Yet 70s stance prevails rampant like a jim johns koolaid drinkers ball.

 WOW, that really sounds like you aren't going to be buying a stepladder soon to get into one of your cars.

:love8: Can't we all just get along? LOL!

:protest: I'm not a big fan of the days that everybody and their dog ran air shocks. Front alignment was a nightmare and handling left a lot to be desired. Back in the day I didn't have the funds to be able to maintain a low stance if I wanted more tire. I imagine there are still a lot of guys that want more meat out back but are forced to do it on the cheap. I don't get as upset as you about it. It tends to make me think back to the earlier days of drag racing and hotrodding when most cars were pretty wonky.

For the guys that have done this mod, what did you do about shock mounting. I know I can mount them in front of the rear end but I'm not sure if that would effect anything as far as handling goes. Just been racking my brain about this and not sure what the best route is.

Moved back 1". Mini tub, 29.5 MT, narrowed rear and #2800 super stock springs. Shocks in OEM position. Heated and bent lower shock mounts to relieve the bind.
