Just wondering the drivers side mirror is loose so when you drive it falls straight down the plastic is worn so it won't hold the view . It in great condition no pitting so I would like to save it any tricks and thanks .

If its for your Barracuda, look to see if the glass is held in with a snap ring. Some has a snap ring others don't. If so remove ring and glass. There are 2 screws that may just need tightened,or you may have to shim the ball stud. Also a article in Mopar Action Magazine stated to drip super glue in the ball stud area, after it dries if the mirrior is not in the correct position the superglue will take up the slop and make friction when you break it loose to adjust. Never tried the super glue myself.

Superglue! No kidding...one of the few things that I've ever found superglue to do well. My Dad had a nice mirror for his old pickup but the ball was loose years ago. A friend of his claimed he had tightened his mirror with superglue. I was really skeptical so asked him a lot of questions. I finally gave it a try and it lasted for a few years so when I found a really nice mirror for my Barracuda I tried it and it worked well. Then the mirror on my Valiant was loose so I did that one too. They have been holding for years and my Dad's mirror is still hanging in there too. It tightens the mirror up nice and doesn't stick it in permanent position. Just a couple of drops on the ball does the trick. Just be careful not to drip in places you don't want it, like on the paint of your door!

That's why I love this forum . I'm learning some good info thanks for the reply . I'll do some surgery tomorrow .
It actually is a Barracuda ,but its my 17 yo daughters .
Thanks gentleman . I would have never thought about super glue .

Ok , o I finally tred Uper Glue and it worked like a charm . It did not ave the trim ring but I put a small bead on the inside and bottom where the plastic and chrome meet and let it set where DD can see traffic . Drove a little and no problems . We Avnet broke the beads yet but I'm sure it wil be move at the the next washing . I'll let you know how it hold up and thanks again for the input.

Ok so I decided to move the mirror and it was like a freakin miracle it tightened right up and you can adjust it and it stays . Thanks guys this is one of the coolest tricks I've learned
