IMPO
I dont car for Foose's stuff, yet his skills are fantastic and that I apreciate.
Fads are just that and he does seem stuck in a particular "style" But then again "artist" as he is kinda known as do have a particular "style" like it or leave it. In saying that, if this is art then not everyone likes an artists art but may like another artist idea of art.
But, I do look back on Fads... and those poor guys who chopped up original cars by tubbing and doing irreversable mods to their cars.....Out of fashion now like lesuire suits and silk shirts..

Personally I prefer my cars original or close to it. What drives me crazy is when these shows screw with some extremely rare original piece, I can't even watch then. The Cuda appeared to be modestly rare, looked like actually a Barracuda, but triple black is not something to change. I can think of 2 cars they really messed up, a '63 Eldo rag (1 of about 1800) & an AMX, they should be shot. I wouldn't let Foose come within 100 yards of my cars.

Oh look another purple E-body... Not like that hasn't been done before. :)

well the consensus seems to be about 80% not liking it and about 20 percent that do. I wonder if this was a Ford or Chevy forum if it wouldn't be quite the opposite? As I've said before these aren't dime a dozen Chevys and Fords were talking about here these are getting to be very rare Mopars. I can almost see something like this being done to my 73 duster original slant 6 AC car dime a dozen as far as Mopars go. But something like a 70 barracuda that was in almost original condition? Even my girlfriend 66 Barracuda still in original condition she's already expressed that she wouldn't want anything like that done to it.

I think it takes an arrogant sob to ask the owner what he wants, then does what he likes. Not the first time he's done that. The guy also told him that he wasn't happy with the motor. So they paint it and stick it back in. Did anyone see the blue smoke coming out of the tailpipes? Why did he cheap out on this car, when most others get everything redone?

Well personally I like his stuff, I met him personally before and he is a stand up guy, and at least he keeps his stuff brand correct, its still got Mopar power, I find it funny people are ranting more about this than some one who stuffs a pos Chebby motor in a Mopar, at the end of the day I guess if you own it do what you want

I respect Chip's skills but he sure knows how to ruin a mopar...I'm old school myself, no two tone paint, no graphics, and never over 15 inch wheels. If I were given this turd I would sell it and buy something that's actually nice...:)

like to have Eron from gas monkey"s garage make a sister car to this one,too have the b and see best of both worlds the original 65 and the new 2015 I bet these would fly out the MOPAR reconstruction and 2015 ugraded 65 barracuda I bet you could do wonders for another 10 on this susspention ,Brakes ,,sreering new front end under it build me my dream cuda ,wow that would be kewl new motor and trans just putin the car is all there and beutifull , I would just like to see it with all the new goodies under it and FAST AND LOUD AND A GOOD MOSSIER REAREND with it being tubbed , if any1 has 1 done like that please send me pictures , call for e mail this 1 is fast and nasty BAD MEDICINE

I like most of what Foose does. You guys realize he is a custom car builder not a restoration service right? Is there some other custom car builder you guys like out there more? Somebody who will take on any make, any year, and type of car and overall they come out pretty sweet.

If he ever came to the East Coast and stole one of my cars, my son and wife has the direction I'd go with it. Would just hope he sticks to most of my vision...lol

After watching last night, not gonna happen...

Foose has a new show on HBO

"Purple is the New Black"

I imagine if I had a budget like that, and 20 monkeys, I would be able to throw something like that together.

Left stock? WTF is that about, there's no imagination in leaving them stock. Stock has a place, and that's on the ultra rare cars. I'd LOVE to throw a full cage in my '65 along with a built and boosted new gen small block. To each their own though.

I personally think Foose has extreme design, metal work, and paint/assembly skills. He should be revered among the "best of the best" who have created custom mopars. I have seen much worse out there.

I think that half of the complainers (myself included) would have been less critical if the car had been a heap of junk to start with and needed rescuing to keep it from being scrapped. In a scenario like that we'd be grateful that the car had been saved.

When one of us decides we want to heavily modify a car in ways that would detract from it's value if it had been restored, we pick a car that's rough. We don't hack up a car that's near perfect. Especially on any car that's considered to be very desirable and somewhat rare. We don't mind doing the mods because it might be beyond our pocketbooks to do a complete restoration of a car that needs a ton of new parts. Why screw with perfect o.e.m. body panels unless there's something about the original styling you don't like?

We've got a 1968 Charger R/T that we have been making several mods on. But we started with a car that most people would have crushed because of it's condition.

I know that Foose is a customizer. I look forward to seeing what mods he does. That doesn't mean that I like everything he does. I stated earlier that I thought he was in a rut. I believe that if he would add in more variety to his modifications the show wouldn't have become so predictable. He's got the talent and so do the people he works with.

Here's a mopar you'd like...:)

I chuckle at the people that are against custom builds like this. Im betting that if Foose choose to take anyone of your cars. That you would be excited to say that he was building your car. Now if you all kept it or sold it, in the end that is here nor there. But I gaurentee you that you guys that are nay sayers and dislike the car would be bragging until the day you died. That if it was your car, you had a car built by Foose himself.

I'd take that car in a heartbeat. In one more heartbeat those fugly wheels would be sold(or given) to some ghetto rat to put on his donk. Then the car would be tolerable.

I won't bother to post my opinion because every single person on here has their own and life is too short to convince others to agree with my ideas.

But what I will say is I thought this episode was done on the cheap, which is a relative term. They didn't strip the car, who knows what was under that paint. They didn't go through the motor even after they said it didn't run correctly and the interior appeared to be just stock replacement seat covers instead of using leather and making them with the same stock pattern.

On other shows they are over the top builds with the bodies being media blasted, crate motors and transmissions, and custom sewn leather seat covers.

Have yet to see a Mopar he has done that looks right.

Hate the big wheels & rubber band tires on older cars

There is something about the side marker lights that help break up the sides and the 70&71 Cudas had nice clean look with the side lights

There isn't too much that couldn't be changed but if the guy wanted a triple black he should have gotten it.

There has been other cars done that keep the original look.

Hope to meet Chip someday, think he is a real talented craftsman, but this is a TV show we are talking about and I'm sure the sponsors have something to say about what gets done too.

I haven't watched his show in years , but streamed this episode to see what everyone was talkng about , aside from the my personal dislike for ghetto rims and Fooses signature 2 tone paint I have to admit I have always liked the shaved { Frenched as we called it back in the day } door handles and side markers , cleaning up the lines that way and removing the excess badge's has always been a real "Tough" look to me . I don't however understand filling in the "shackle holes "? LOL really guys you don't know what you took out of the tail panel ? and modifying the panel for big round tips that aren`t cut to match the profile of the panel as the guy said they were instead of doing the real Cuda thing and cutting the holes to accept the rectangular through the panel tips that is signature Cuda , painting a red line across the grill like a stock Challenger is yet another sign of tardation in my book , if this car was dropped in my driveway with the title in my name then Yes I would drive it ..... 1 time to the local consignment lot , bet I could get enough to buy a real nice big block Cuda off his name being on it .
