foose is hacking up another mopar !

-
I've become my dad. He never understood my rock and roll and I don't understand those wheels. Uff dah!

That's my biggest pet peeve about what they do. BIG wheels on everything, some cars just don't look good with them, others do.

The question I have is just how real is this show. I know a lot of other reality shows will hire actors and just buy a car and fix it up. Has anyone personally shook hands with any of the car owners who has their stuff fooseified?

I watched that episode. I believe that car was originally owned by the owners grandmother. Whereas in my opinion they should have just left the car alone...not take it to ANY custom builder. But that's just me....and yeah, those wheels belong on mars.

My friend inherited a truck from his father-in-law. His wife contacted the show and Chip did his stuff to it and did a great job.

My niece was a parts runner for the production crew in the early years of the show and told me there wasn't any actors or staging. Since the show returned, they don't do the "fool the owner" anymore because of the popularity of the show made it difficult. She is still friends with many of the crew.

My other niece met her fiancee through the first niece. He was one of the guys who worked on the cars during the week. He also said that the first version of the show was legit.

Notice they didn't have any of the husband speaking on screen at the reveal. His reaction was the best part of the show. I'd have been pissed as well expecting a black car and a fricken cookie monster showed up.

As others have noted, my biggest issue with this show was showing a rendering of a black car/red stripe and backdooring a purple/white stripe car. IMO, that's a BS unethical move.

If they did that to me, that paint would get so f'd up that a repaint would soon follow. Hey kids, drag those bicycle handles on the side. :)

IIRC, they had a deal where the car had to be available for promo stuff for 2 years.

It's a Television Show. Everything is already pre-scripted.

And then 'edited'.

Wake Up for God's Sake.

What the Hell, are you from Arizona ?

I chuckle at the people that are against custom builds like this. Im betting that if Foose choose to take anyone of your cars. That you would be excited to say that he was building your car. Now if you all kept it or sold it, in the end that is here nor there. But I gaurentee you that you guys that are nay sayers and dislike the car would be bragging until the day you died. That if it was your car, you had a car built by Foose himself.

Years back the wife told me she almost had MY car done on the show. The only reason they didn't take it was because it didn't run at the time. (Between engine at that time)
After seeing what he does to the cars, I told her that she was lucky that didn't happen. She asked why. I said "That would be instant divorce for letting that hack have at it on MY ride!"

And I mean that 100%!

Stay away from MY ride!

I would like to know where is the original engine for the car? To me that was a car that should put back to stock. A grand coupe Cuda with all those options in that triple black. Would be a show stopper for sure.
Of course trying to put the car back to stock now would be a lot of work after all that door handle and side markers were filled in. Talk about hacking original sheet metal.

I honestly wouldn't be that mad. I Would change the wheels and tires and paint and interior probably.

personally i have fun working on it .might not be perfect when its done but i know it did it and besides i like door handles and hate big wheels but that is just me

I haven't watched his show in years , but streamed this episode to see what everyone was talkng about , aside from the my personal dislike for ghetto rims and Fooses signature 2 tone paint I have to admit I have always liked the shaved { Frenched as we called it back in the day } door handles and side markers , cleaning up the lines that way and removing the excess badge's has always been a real "Tough" look to me . I don't however understand filling in the "shackle holes "? LOL really guys you don't know what you took out of the tail panel ? and modifying the panel for big round tips that aren`t cut to match the profile of the panel as the guy said they were instead of doing the real Cuda thing and cutting the holes to accept the rectangular through the panel tips that is signature Cuda , painting a red line across the grill like a stock Challenger is yet another sign of tardation in my book , if this car was dropped in my driveway with the title in my name then Yes I would drive it ..... 1 time to the local consignment lot , bet I could get enough to buy a real nice big block Cuda off his name being on it .

I second your notion!
:banghead:

LOL! I like it? But I will change almost everything? And don't forget to change that 440 that was smoking that they painted and didn't fix!

I thought I remember seeing a few where they throw high dollar crate motors in cars. If it's just my same old motor and trans and rear end then I might be annoyed.

If I understood correctly they didn't have the original motor in the car. - So it's the one thing that could have been changed without affecting the car's value. - And it's left alone.

If I had been the owner I would have wanted them to stay with the triple black especially because I'd requested it. But I would have been eager to have seen a hemi with an overdrive dropped in. They didn't say much about the interior. That Gran Coupe had a factory overhead console. I wonder if they kept it.

I've watched many if not all of the overhaul shows and I can't help feeling that they just sold the whole rebuild short. They could have at least given it a upgraded fuel delivery system????? Did they even add an air conditioning unit? I don't think they did. Yeah not sure if they drastically cut the budget or what but this build seemed to fall well short of most I've seen. Not to mention it's still a terrible outcome in my book. They could have really made this a beautiful car and ended up with a mopar that is not a nice stock build or a nice custom ride. Falls short all the way around in my book. I'm talking about FOOSE builds. If I saw this car on the street, I would probably say "nice car".

Instead if bitching and whining I'm sure you can always watch MTV Teen mom's or some lame *** housewives of some lame county show.....:happy1:

maybe the insider didn't want that stuff. plus don't the owner have to pay taxes on the parts and work put into these cars? maybe the owners couldn't afford to pay for those upgrades so they weren't done.

So, the consensus here is that they ruined a good car.
I have to agree with that, but that's what they do to every vehicle they touch in my opinion.
They should start a new show called ''Underhaulin'' where they take the messed up customs and turn them back to a stock O.E.M. restored condition.
They could start with Foose's favorite build and then make him drive it that way.
I would love to see the look on HIS face when they revealed it to him.......
Now that would be funny!
(And justice!)

I would keep him away from any vehicle I own with a loaded shotgun before I let him touch it. Most of the cars he mutilates would be better off crushed.
