It's certainly an antique, but I really don't know anything about it. It's been stored in my basement for at least the last 40+ years. It was left behind by the previous owner of the house. I blew the dust off of it, put a little oil in the oil cups, plugged it in and turned it on. It spins up just fine, with no strange sounds and such. The grinding wheels look fairly worn, the cords are old looking with cracked rubber, has surface rust, etc.

I'm guessing this puppy weighs in at near 200 pounds. It was made by a company that made high quality tools and other items, even motorcycles and washing machines in the beginning! This is a high quality precision tool that could be put back into service, in my opinion.

This is a Thor, model 100. Below is a picture I took yesterday. I have no idea what to sell this for, but FABO requires me to put a price in the ad, so, $150.00 buyer pays the freight from 97141. I will put it on a pallet, and I have a loading dock with forklift, so shipping is no problem.

OR trade up towards steel wheels, SBP, 7x15 OR?

Ok. I give in. What can you do for shipping to Macon, Georgia?

Rob, you are apparently more familiar with these thing than I am. I am happy to get you the shipping quote (gimme your zip) but I think it would be a good idea if you had me check this thing out for you. I don't know what it is supposed to do, all I can say is the motor comes on and it spins the grinding wheel. What else can I check for you?

I was told that the chunk that holds the valve is supposed to spin while the grinder is running. This one doesn't. Also the handle that is on the front of the machine, on the far left (picture in first post) doesn't move freely. I don't know what it is supposed to do, maybe that one is to engage the chuck(?)

It's an old machine, I THINK it could be made to work again, but she's been sittin for many many years. I just don't want to misrepresent it; it's really of no use to me, other than possibly salvaging the electric motor off of it. And that is the only thing I can guarantee on the tool.

I still want it, if the shippin isn't gonna kick my total butt. I am sure I can make it work.

IF you can have it shipped to a local business with a loading dock, the freight will be significantly cheaper than a residence, FYI

I can have it shipped to O'Reilly Auto Parts in Gray, Georgia, I am pretty sure.

Wow I googled thor 100 and I found this thread. I just bought one of these last weekend It took me 3 hours of cleaning and repairing old wiring but it works good. From what I can tell these are very good machines and they were made for the Army/Air Force circa 1953. I think that you can find new stones for these. Just my two cents. Good luck with the sale and purchase

You coming down to Spring Fling? Ill back my truck up to your truck...:)
