As an everyday driver for many years, she has now racked-up over 290,000 miles through the roads and sometimes the off-roads, of America and Canada.
"Retired" and limited to auto shows, dinner outings and other special events since 1998, the Barracuda now basks in her private garage in Clifton, Virginia. She is treated with the respect that has been earned over a lifetime of fun driving and sometimes dangerous and life-changing events.
This car has had multiple sojourns across the western US as far east as Missouri, via old US Highway 50 through California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Then the Barracuda went north for three years in the early '80s to Montana (her place of origin), North Dakota, Wyoming and into Saskatchewan through the northern US "port" of Scobey, Montana. In this extreme winter climate, the Barracuda was outfitted with special "Conoco Polar Start" gear lube for the 4-speed trans and rear end and an engine block heater to plug-in the night before-- no vehicle will start at 40 below zero without it.
