MRL 318 Stroker Build

Hey guys/gals. I have not been on here in a little while, been STUPID busy! And that's a good thing. Been working all day and teaching 3 nights a week this winter, makes for some long but very fulfilling days.

Anyhow, I thought I would post a 318 stroker build I just got done with a little bit back. It was a sad story to begin with, but we made it all better. It started out as a "home" built 318. No problem with that, we have all been there. But after stick multiple valves from multiple heads(RHS and EQ Magnum) from the same shop, he had had enough. Tore it down, brought it to use and we found the issues. Many in fact. Now everything is fixed, and we even went stroker on it. Now its a 396ci 318. Now for the guts and what not:

318 block 3.970" bore
SCAT crank and rods
Icon pistons
Total Seal rings
Reworked EQ Magnum heads, new guides and valves MILD porting
Old School Holley Strip Dom
Holley 750 carb
Comp roller rockers
Rocker studs converted to 7/16-3/8 from 5/16-3/8
MRL custom HR cam setup
Converted from 318 to 340 main caps(.250 taller)
All the old parts from previous build

We had talked about power and what it was to be used for, plus we had a very tight budget to work with. We spent the time and money where it needed to be spent, Heads and Machine work. Here are the results

Torque was quite good, even down low for a single plan intake. It hit 460TQ at 3000rpm. Peak was 495TQ at 4600rpm. Still holding onto 450+TQ at peak power.

HP was nice as well. It peaked at 490HP at 5700rpm, and held it well, not dropping off like a rock.

All in all for a mild build it made good power and was pretty square on bore/stroke and HP/TQ.
