aftermarket duster fuel tank

I talked to them. Stock tank with efi pump. $800! Not!

$235 is what they told me for just a tank shown below. Here is their exact quotes:

"$235.00 for the tank only, pump, sender and fittings are sold separately depending on what you need, all of that is listed on our website."

"If you are going to use this tank, you would use the GPA pump, which one depends on your EFI system or engine, in your case (I asked about MSD Atomin or EZ-EFI) you would want the GPA-4 pump. There are two holes on the top of the tank as you can see, one is for the pump the other one is for the sending unit, so the stock one won’t work, but an aftermarket one will."

I agree, no gas tank is worth $800.....

Where did you find that pic? Can you post a link? I searched the Tanks Inc. site, couldn't find it. Looks like a decent deal actually.

hell I could take a stock tank and put a pump in it myself a lot cheaper. a stock tank doesn't do me any good though.

Who sells that tank? I like that design a lot better than hacking my trunk for a mustang tank.

I have EFI in several cars and no problem w/ an external pump, even with mine in the engine bay. I don't have any sumps. In my C-body the pump will suck air if I brake hard with <5 gal since a wide shallow tank. Haven't driven the A's enough to say. I recently saw several external sumps on e-bay cheap ($25?). It looks like you run a low-pressure pump to keep the sump filled and it supplies the EFI pump. Some models put the pumps in the sump and some outside. You can buy the same from the high-price brands too.

I really like that aeromotive in tank kit idea. Rather brilliant. The guys over on pirate 4x4 and ls1 tech seem to love that system. I like the picture above posted by dano, you could cut and weld in a recess for clearance from the trunk floor. Sure seems easier to go that way than add the comp. eng. sump on the bottom with an external pump I was thinking of doing. I like it

I ordered the hot rod city garage tank a couple days ago. nice guy to deal with.

I ordered the same alum tank from them minus the in tank fuel fump...I'm running a external pump...the people there are soooooo friendly it was a pleasure talking with and then buying from. Fair priced I feel...can't wait fir it to arrive and install.....thanks for putting this up so another member could buy from them....my stock tank worked. But now I just have more to polish. Lol. Lol

Jeff is VERY good to deal with. And he is a mopar guy. Mine should be in monday or Tuesday. I will post some pics through the whole install if I can. I have been waiting almost two years to do this! I almost had them powder coat it black but I got cheap. I am not a polished, so it will look like hammered hell after a while.

keep us updated on that tank!

after some thought, i will be using the aeromotive phantom in tank pump kit on a stock fuel tank. i will make a recess so it sits down and gives me plenty of clearance for the lines. ill let ya know how it turns out.. lol

I'm coating the bottom of the alum tank when it arrives with a paint that my buddy put on the bottom of his car over his paint ... it comes clear so it will take the tank will take the hit of stones and still look great ....for that money out I have to protect the investment lol :burnout:

Some progress. New spectra tank. Drew a square.

I know!! Forget buying it from Summit. Amazon has it for damn near $200 less!

I won't buy anything from Amazon for various reasons but mainly because they are creeping into everything trying to put everyone else out of business. They undercut prices so much you can't say no.

Anyway, regardless of where you buy it, seems like a good setup!

Looking forward to seeing how the HRC tank works out for the OP as well.

that looks really good Mopardude! I really needed a baffled tank or I was going to do something similar. my tank should be here any day!

Putting a drop in a tank is what I am thinking I will do, but instead of the aftermarket pump I think I will put an 99-02 GM F-Body pump and assembly in it. The GM setup has a reservoir built around it with a suction pump built in working of a secondary outlet on the pump that keeps the reservoir full. So any fuel sloshing past the basket get's sucked up into the reservoir and no baffling is necessary.

It still cost $200 new, but that's half what the Aeromotive setup costs. And the dual outlet pump is somewhat tricky, you can't just pick up a bigger aftermarket pump and swap it in without some re-work.

Got one of their tanks also. They were great to deal with and, :finga:I love the T-shirt!
