I messed up big. (Non Mopar)

here's one other thought... if you stripped "female" threads, you can also try retapping with a larger size tap .. but you then have to use a larger size bolt. your car no doubt uses metric bolts. any good hardware or auto parts store should be able to get you the right tap and bolt. be careful when tapping aluminum - go slow and use tapping oil. before i tried this procedure, i would try and find out how much stress is put on this bolt when screwed into the housing. re-tapped threads may or may not hold up the required stress.
