I am going to be installing a 383 with a 4 speed in my 73 Duster. I was wondering what bellhousing or scatter shield people are running.

I used a stock 11.5 inch bell housing I believe on my 440 4 spd.

I think it was 11.5 anyways. I know I used a stock 318 flywheel. Don't know about scatter shields.

Think it could also depend on motor mounts or motor plate. I think you might be able to use a bigger bell with motor plate. Could be whrong. Jim lusk should chime in, I think he knows

There are basically two passenger car (OEM) choices. One for the 130-tooth flywheel (10.5" clutch or 10.95" scalloped clutch) and for the 143-tooth flywheel (true 11" clutch). These came in different configurations and front bearing retainer sizes, but those are the flywheel/clutch sizes. Some of the choice is determined by what trans you have.

I have a 340/383 4 speed out of a 68 Cuda. My engine is a 383 stroker with a 10.5 in clutch.

Did my build over 7 years ago. Got numbers mixed up. I originally bought an 11 and it didn't fit well with the under chassi headers. The. Bought a 10.5. Got my 10's and 11's mixed up in previous post...corrected now.
