When HemiDenny's new build drove into the shop late on a cold night after being
unloaded off of a transport truck from Texas, he eyed the subject from stem to
stern and then announced "Next Victim".

Some unusual things are destined to happen to this car so stay tuned and we will try
to keep you up to date.

Only 69,000 miles on the clock and never been kissed (accident free).

Received as a '75 model, this rust free 6-cylinder automatic Duster will be easily transformed
into the '73 model Denny wanted for this particular build with some parts left over from the
construction of the silver "Ghost of the Mopar Missile" Duster which became a '71 model.

As you can see, we have spared you from going through the disassembly process piece-by-piece.

Keep an eye out for that front bumper later as it will be dramatically transformed into something
a little more form fitting.

Being a California emissions car, this one came with a complementary map of
the Santa Ana freeway.

Upon my arrival the morning after the car was delivered I was greeted by this diagram
or instruction sheet as it were, taped to the right rear window.

Moving along....she's nice and clean and rust free. Just what the Doctor er....
Mad Scientist ordered! Don't pay any attention to those steel plates bolted to
the core support......Repeat after me: "I don't need to know".

Now with such a nice floor, what's he doing grinding out all of those spot welds? And what's
he going to do with that new AMD floor?

See those large clevis brackets on either side of the door opening (you're not supposed to
notice them either). They are not to attach the car's body to the arms of an abandoned
carnival ride.

Scruff's watches the whole process with a dubious eye and the plot thickens!

That's a clean body. Where did that come from??

I don't believe Denny drew that. It's a well known fact that he always sketches out his builds on
a soiled cocktail napkin. Super clean car!

Being a huge Carlton fan, I can't help but wonder if this will be a different year ('73), but accurate, tribute car with some of the creative construction techniques utilized in those days of Pro Stock. :iconbigg:

.....or I'm WAY off base with wishful thinking and my imagination running amuck? :banghead:

See this why I'm in a hurry to get my Duster done...I'd get bored and start looking for another project to buy, and add all the "New" idea's to the next one. Press on Denny.... Press on. Does this mean I'm gonna be going back to the Header guy ?

Scruff's looks a little thin, you didn't cut back on this food to finance this project..did you ?

The car came out of Texas....but was originally from California spending most of its miles there....then ended at relatives in Oklahoma. The Mopar builder I bought it from purchased it from the Oklahoma people.

all said...well worth the little extra effort for rust free sheet-metal.

He does get a little testy when he gets woke out of a perfectly good nap and it is not even time to head home.

Can't Wait to see more.

I almost laughed at the 2nd post. At first glance I thought the drop light hanging on the wall/board in the background was a sawzall... Like a threat to any parts that didn't comply with easy disassembly...
