Key to avoiding scams is communication. Get them on the phone for sure.
When you, KrazyKuda, were selling your pickup. You talked with the guy several times, and communicated every step. It's when someone won't talk on the phone and just wants to send you a check...money order...bank check, blah, blah, blah that you have to wonder if they're legit.
