I started in the business 25 years ago. The 1700 series was one of the first boxes to get roller drawer slides. Your box is 25+ years old I would bet. The bottom drawer was great for long bars and extensions as well as anything else. The next series box put a full length drawer at the top for all your drive tools. I used to demo the 1700 by opening the bottom drawer and standing inside. The Snap On dealer damaged a few boxes trying the same thing. LOL
