Looks like Kyle Bush just caused the last crash. He screwed himself up for Daytona. That didn't work did it Kyle?!

I hope Kyle is ok, said he hit the wall head on at over 90mph....was rooting for Brad but he was all alone out front and no momentum.....good to see a young kid win like that...way to go Reed!

Great pass Ryan Reed.

And he is a recently diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic (notice the sponsors of his car (Lily, ADA)).

My 18 year old son is also a Type 1 Diabetic, diagnosed 5 years ago, and doesn't let Diabetes hold him back either.

I understand racers wanting to race all the time. But if I was racing in cup i would only focus on cup races. Too much of a risk racing in another series. Dale Jr missed a bunch of races when his car caught fire racing on an off weekend race. This could ruin Kyle's chance at a championship before the season has started.

I totally agree! Although It is cool to see drivers sweep all 3 weekend races like Kyle and Brad have done in the past but it can be risky.

Happened to Tony Stewart too, didn't he break a leg? Then in another off race he killed another driver...but that's a different story....

He won't be racing tomorrow thats for sure, I hope he heals fast, two compound fractures are going to be hard to shake, Go Penskee :D

Yes seeing a driver sweep the series is cool. But doesn't impress me much. Why don't pro football players play in college or high school games. The minor leagues are for young rookies to shine, not have to compete against pros with experience.

Not a good week for the Busch brothers.

Ryan Reed was up front all day. A well deserved win. Awesome kid.

Thank you Keith  Matt Crafton will be driving in Kyle's place tomorrow

Busch, through the spotters, was giving Bubba Wallace lessons early in the race on how to work the draft and where to stall cars out loading up the spoiler. Daytona isn't the place where the cup guys are head and shoulders better because it's mostly car/set up.

When I raced motorcycle, I moved up the ranks pretty fast. I practiced with one of the best guys on the area at the time and soaked in everything I could. I couldn't keep up at first, but I learned something every time I followed him, listened to his critiquing and eventually was right on his wheel in the classes we raced. I would have never gotten where I was as fast without the tutelage.

The cup guys bring that to the table and show the lower series drivers what it takes to run up front.

Evidently with Panica the tutelage ain't sinkin in.

Almost seems like cheating to me. Cheats the young guns out of a field of like contenders and cheats the other cup guys cause they have way more (practice) laps and a better feel for the track and its nuances. Kinda like taking a test after reviewing the answers.

all I can say is as long as nascar allows the cup guys to race the xfinity races, they are going to get all the practice they can , especially now that the testing has been extinguished. if I were in a cup car and allowed to race xfinity, I would be behind the wheel every chance I got. its not the drivers fault , its the fact that nascar allows it.

Agreed. It's just using the rules to your advantage. It's too bad what happened but can happen anytime the drivers wheel out on the track. Nascar will hopefully install safer barriers especially at super speedways.
