oil filters what do u use and why

Fram is fine, there is a ton of knowledge on bobistheoilguy.com nobody trying to sell anything there. Just cutting them open and looking at a new filter doesn't tell you much. What about the filer media? How much does it filter? Is it restrictive as it filters? How much does it hold before it starts to get restrictive? The drain back valve holding is important for cold starts. A couple of the filters with the highest filter rates are the pure one and the fram ultra both over 99% at 20 microns, the pure one says 99.9% but if you have a good air filter then there won't be that much small particles in the oil. Wix are fine too but I wouldn't worry about any big name brand fiter working just fine.
The big advantage of the premium filters is their ability to go 15,000 miles. This is for a car that is driven a lot with quality oil that gets more then 15,000 miles a year. I wouldn't go more then a year without changing the oil so the filter doesn't matter much IMO.
