oil filters what do u use and why

WIX or NAPA Gold or Silverline because they are made by WIX.

Cause WIX is a good filter.

Amsoil...I use Amsoil everything. Would never sell something to people if I didn't use it myself. Plus since all of my Mopars use the same filter I buy a case every other year and I'm good to go.

wix, amsoil 2 stroke oil sucks Im 62 blew up 2 bikes on that stuff, Klotz oil for 2 strokes.

Fram is fine, there is a ton of knowledge on bobistheoilguy.com nobody trying to sell anything there. Just cutting them open and looking at a new filter doesn't tell you much. What about the filer media? How much does it filter? Is it restrictive as it filters? How much does it hold before it starts to get restrictive? The drain back valve holding is important for cold starts. A couple of the filters with the highest filter rates are the pure one and the fram ultra both over 99% at 20 microns, the pure one says 99.9% but if you have a good air filter then there won't be that much small particles in the oil. Wix are fine too but I wouldn't worry about any big name brand fiter working just fine.
The big advantage of the premium filters is their ability to go 15,000 miles. This is for a car that is driven a lot with quality oil that gets more then 15,000 miles a year. I wouldn't go more then a year without changing the oil so the filter doesn't matter much IMO.

I have been changing oil since 1974. Say what you want to and point to whatever studies or web sites you want. Fram SUCKS.

I got my 75 F250 just before Christmas. Well maintained, pretty fresh 351M, factory T18 4 speed, Dana 60. Guy had JUST had it serviced a few weeks prior. Had a new Fram filter on it. So the first thing I did was service the whole truck. Again. Oil pressure went from 50 at 55 MPH to about 75 a 55 MPH. That was back in December. It's still the same. I have cut a LOT.....and I mean a LOT of oil filters open through the years. I can say that I will never use a Fram.

I use a Fram on my BB mopar because of the construction of the HP ones, nothing else compares, have seen two other brands blow off on the starting line, it filters much finer particles out so it does rob a little power but I like to sleep good at night.

me too on napa gold.puralator was a top choice also when they did the cut open test
