I'm looking to put together a nice street strip car I have a 70 dart I picked up for better deal then expected well its slant 6 and I have two engines siting in my garage one 5.9 magnum and other is mid 70s 440. The 440 would need complete rebuilt but magnum will not . What's going to be my best bet to hit 12.5 or faster in 1/4 (I know other factors will need to be considered) I read some people are just doing cam heads intake carb on 440 and doing well but what will be the easiest on my pocket

there is no replacement for displacement

but then again, the magnum is about 3 decades more technologically advanced

but then again, the 440 would need a complete rebuild so the parts can be handpicked for the exact style motor you want

but then again, the magnum could be as much as 200 pounds lighter, which will need less horse power to move, less brake power to stop and most likely handle better

but then again, the 440 is a 440

but then again, the magnum might need a lot less work to bolt in the then a 360

I guess there area couple of things to consider ;)

well that is a pretty solid setup might have to go that way thank you for your insight

Put the smallblock in...leave the bigblock for the heavyweight b and e bodies..
