Hello FABO.

My '68 fastback needs a driver side quarter, a trunk floor and both trunk extensions. I also am going to do a spring relocation and a mini tub.

What is the proper way to tackle this? which one should I do first? It seems the spring relocation would be the easiest to do first, then maybe the minitub and trunk extensions & floor at the same, then the driver side quarter panel?

i may have a shop do the quarter panel, but the trunk floor seems like it could be easy once i drill all the spot welds. my friend who is a good welder is gonna come & help.

what are your thoughts?

currently i have the underside of the car completely stripped of the undercoating and paint. hours and hours of using a wire wheel and a hamburger wheel.

My first thought was for you to get some DP primer on that bare metal, if you haven't already.

There are two ways to approach your body work problem. Both are reasonably simple to an expert body man.

But first I have to ask the following questions:

(1) are you going to use an AMD full quarter panel or a Sherman 3/4 special? I've used the Sherman/Cross Canada partial quarter panels and spent more time trying to get the panels smooth than actually installing them.

(2) who is performing the mini tub and trunk floor, and extensions install?

(3) are you keeping the stock inner and outer wheel houses?

(4) are you widening the rear wheel openings for easier access to larger rear tires?

PM me and I'll walk you through the process (with pictures)
