NV4500 question

I have rebuilt hundreds and hundreds of those NP435s( assembly line rebuilder, army contract). They are compact, heavy, well engineered for their time,HD, Graintruck/tow-truck, last forever type, 4-speed trannies. And back in the late 70s/early 80s, they all had granny gears, and no O/Ds. Just saying. The synchronizer system in those years was not set up for fast shifting, but certainly did the job. I cant remember ever replacing a cluster or low gear in one. And M/Ds only because the clutch splines would wear out.Mostly it was the brass in the synchronizers would bottom in the pans, and the clutch teeth would be beat to nubs.I see the NV adds an O/D onto the back. Sweet.
