I got this intake from a guy along with a bunch of other car stuff from a neighbor who was cleaning out his shed. It's a dual plane intake and looks like a small port (273-318) piece. There are no identifying characteristics like the Pentastar, firing order, cylinder numbers or other tidbits of information I'm used to seeing on Chrysler intakes. It is cast iron not aluminum and VERY heavy. Can anyone tell me what size engine it fits or possibly how old it is, is it 60's or 70's? Thanks.

70 340 A and E body. Dang you beat me Rusty

Looks like the carb mounts backwards on that particular intake. Maybe rare???

there are no factory iron 318 4bbl intakes....273-4 single plane and a 360-4 iron intake they threw on a police 318. Small primaries up front, whats rare?

They churned out a bunch of 340-4v in the 1970 MY. The choke pocket was always on the passenger side to keep it from getting tangled up with the throttle and kickdown linkages. The MY 1970 340 used the AVS carb. I think the secondary holes on this manifold look a little larger than the primary. Yet, not large enough to suspect a TQ had been mounted

You can see where the adapter was on wrong. Unless I'm missing something?

Adapter/spacer plate backwards? That is pretty interesting.

Look at the imprint on the gasket. Maybe someone had an adapter on there, sure has the footprint of a TQ.

Had to go back and look closely at the gasket. I see what looks like a spreadbore foot print mounted backwards. If so, I'm sure they were disappointed with the performance as I doubt the secondaries would open very far. FUBAR

lol

lookin at that gasket outline, that thing must'a leaked like a bucket with the bottom rusted out..........................

I'll go you one further. Notice the extra long studs? It looks like it was an adapter plate. Not only backwards, but upside down also!

Boat, car, forklift, airplane, French tickler......who cares? It's a 70 340 intake. Looks like it had a TQ adapter mounted on it bassackerds for some reason. That doesn't make the intake rare. Castin number says it's a 70 340 intake. That's what it always was, that's what it always will be. Unless somebody decides to scrap it and turn it into a Toyotee.

Rare was a joke..... SORRY won't happen again boss!
