Too many ,mistakes.....

Great project, I'm following. I want/need to do the same for my Duster soon, under the hood is like an oven on hot sunny days here in CO (more intense sunlight due to higher altitude, closer to the sun and less atmosphere to absorb it). No doubt my Hedman shorties are contributing to the high temps too. With my borderline pump-gas-friendly compression it likes to ping if it's hot. Also has noticeably more power at night time when it's colder out, or if I'm at the drag strip and I can spray it down with water.

question you said something about the stock air cleaner base being too far back, do you mean back towards the firewall? Does this mean your air cleaner is now offset towards the front of the car?

Also what was your reason for "filling" that whole triangular area like that instead of just near the air cleaner hole? Is it to help insulate against the heat more?

Whoa,back from the dead...
Hello Khalid, hopefully all is well, for the wedding.
Question one: I mis-measured ,where I cut. I cut it in the triangular section,to keep the bracing. I mocked it up using a 14" x 3" air filter, went to a 14" x 4" filter(sits higher,in the scoop)... Had to trim it in the rear,to clear more.
Question 2: The reason for "filling the hole" with the tin shield, was to have a uniform sealing area, for foam or weather strip seal to seal the air cleaner pan,to the hood. That maximizes your cold air induction to the intake system.
So,you are correct Khalid.
