Been doing it that way for decades, not years. (I'm older n hell) :-)
Well ok, 59 but still.
Have done it Mikes way also, and have even drilled a hole in the cap and put a plastic hose in it then put that on the bleed screw and squeeze the bottle.
All of them work.
