Have anyone of youssssssssss bleed your brakes by your self.An old timer said to me once,I dont need any help bleeding brakes:???: I done even need any fancy tools. So he told me he used a 2x4 pump them up forced to the seat open the bleeder and there you go done.So I tried it what do you know:cheers:I guess Cindy out of a job.

Gonna be doing this on my son's 80 Z28 today. But I'm gonna have a helper. At least I better.

Thats the way we do it now, a big syringe full of brake fluid and push it in and up from the bottom , Works great.

Gravity bleed, vacuum tube from bleeder to a catch can, do all 4 at once and keep m/c full. I'm not to big on jamming 2x4's into upholstery

I usually gravity bleed. I haven't had any problems yet and been doing it for years. You remove the reservoir cap, start at the farthest wheel ( Right Rear) and move around the car in order from farthest to closest. Let the bleeder open until it starts dripping, close the bleeder, pump pedal several times, then open bleeder, you should see bubbles come out, Let it drip a little more, close bleeder and pump pedal, keep repeating until no bubbles come out. You can do this for every wheel, but I usually just do it for what ever circuit I have open. This may not be a good method for a "dry" system, it would take forever, this just works if you opened a system to replace a caliper, or wheel cylinder or hose etc.

When it comes to bleeding brakes, they keep trying to reinvent the wheel and sell you more **** you don't need...Vacuum Pump, Gravity, Pressure...blah, blah........

While a bit rustic even your old timers method worked....maybe you should market this amazing product.

Been doing it that way for decades, not years. (I'm older n hell) :)
Well ok, 59 but still.

Have done it Mikes way also, and have even drilled a hole in the cap and put a plastic hose in it then put that on the bleed screw and squeeze the bottle.

All of them work.

Nice job Don.

Did ya get the ujoints in?

Na not yet still waiting for them to come in :protest:

Pumping these type brakes is not necessary. I have gravity bled brakes ever since I was about 14 years old. All you have to do is complete your repairs, leave the top off the master cylinder, fill it up and crack each bleeder screw open one at a time until steady fluid comes out. Close that bleeder screw, recheck the fluid level and move to the next.

RR, LR, RF, LF in that order. Only takes about an hour at the absolute most. Usually a lot less. Making any more out of it is simply unnecessary bullshit. It's really that simple.

If something without ABS will not gravity bleed, there's something wrong.
