Gang Green 68 GTS

Yes it is '68 GG1

Thanks Bill, That's what I thought. I want to keep the car same color, as it is numbers, but mine looks pretty shitty now as it stands. I'm sure it will be much better when renewed.

RS23 , I'm not sure what the Manufacturer was, but I'm sure I bought it online at Ebag. I'll try to check and see.

Thanks. I've been looking but can't find anything like it.

Come to think of it, I believe that they sent me a magnet ad that is on my toolbox. Will get that info to you later today.

Nice project and craftmanship!

Any updates?

Very nice work, I love GG1 Darts! I should post pics of my buddies BB1 red tail strip gts project when I go over there next time.

Well, actually I'm thinking of using a red tail stripe on this one with the GG1. Should work well since I will be using red stripe P245-15 tires and red outline GTS emblems. Don't think Iv'e seen that combo anywhere yet.

I have to agree the red tail stripe would accent the other red details on your 68 nicely. I bet there were a couple 68 GTS' made with that combo, just none have surfaced yet that I know of.

Finally got a chance to read through the entire thread. (Heading home from west coast swing. 6 hrs flying/layovers). As is the case with all your projects; great work!! And of course we all love the Picts. Visual learning crowd. :)

Lookin good! I see your zip says youre in Friendship. Im in Owings. I think I've seen your old road runner around before. Lookin forward to seeing this out in the road.

Ok Guys, I finally got though the Spring Honey Do List. Gettin back on the GTS so It can be under its own power. Used some high quality spray bedliner on the front wheel wells today. Probably tomorrow I will push it outside to finish sanding the engine bay and get it in paint I hope by next week. Then I will install the K member and all the new front end parts. Next , go through the brakes. Finally install the drivetrain. Hope to accomplish all this before the end of June ??

Don't you just love body work ? Spent 4 hrs outside in the heat yesterday hand sanding the firewall with little crumpled pieces of sandpaper, so you can get in all the cracks and corners. Still have to do the aprons and reshoot it with primer one more time.
Did I mention I HATE body work.

I did my GG1 1968 383 GTS that way 15 years ago. It is a stripe delete car but I wanted it to stand out from the crowd. :D

Wow ! I like the way that came out. I always thought that the red would be good, since the green is so dark. I also see that you have the nose cone on yours. Is it a repro or an original metal one ?

the nose cone is an original metal one. The wheel opening moldings are NOS, I looked for over 5 years before I was able to finally get a complete set together in the original packaging to put on the car, and that was almost 15 years ago when I was parts scrounging!

I was able to find a repro nose cone. They are made of polypropylene. Paid stupid money for it too. But it looks perfect. Can't tell it's not metal unless plink it with a finger. I am still looking for a nice tail panel for the trunk , however.

Some progress made. Reloaded the engine bay with primer ( one more time ). Now need to sanded all out AGAIN and seal coat and paint color. Somehow the surface ended up a little rough this time. I guess wrong pressure or paint supply screw. But I am a novice painter. Have I said.... I HATE BODY WORK !!
