its an enclosed pen with wire sides and top, made out of say 2 x4 's that you can move around the back yard. a wire bottom would help keep any dog or critter out too. something that is movable by yourself or a lawn tractor. instead of a chicken yard that is in a fixed location. this way you get the grass fertilized, the birds get fresh "pickens" every so often. they can go into the coop at night.
