6.2 hellcat crate motor

-
I'd much rather buy a demon roller and this motor than a new hellcat challenger. Could end up being cheaper too!

Plus, I mean come on! A "Demon Hellcat"? Shut up and take my money! haha

I love my old cars, 71 Swinger-360 magnum, 66 Dart gt vert-318. Both great cars, but there's nothing like getting in a brand new hellcat and running down the road!

For those arguing that they'd rather build their own motor. I say, good luck with that. This is a factory 707 HP motor that had to pass the factory's durability testing. Including 24 durability cycle from max HP to max torque, over 2 million miles of equivalent testing, and 100 consecutive drag race starts.

A 700 HP motor in a 3000 pound car should run high 9s. Now imagine a high nine car with a motor that will last 200,000 miles.

Well said Joe.....Im thinking some are being a littlle bit too precious about their perceived abilities.

Some of us aren't engine builders...we neither have the facilities or the expertise.

To build a 700hp R Block or RB in any country except the US would easily cost 17k thru an established builder.

MP Crate motors serve a purpose..and they do it well.

You have a Corrupted mind indeed because I had the exact same thought!!!

A Hellcat Demon? Evil X Evil = Love! Lol

Before I head to the bank how much does the 6.2 conversion cost in a 69 Barracuda ? is there a harness for a car that doesn't have GPS and engine management ? which trans should I be looking at and is there a conversion kit for that trans ?

Anybody want to buy my Viper V10 engine, I'd put that in a my truck in a heartbeat......

Where are the oil cooler/supercharger cooler kits needed to make it survive? This is another bait and switch from the snakes running Mopar. Yeah you can buy the engine for 17K, but be ready to fork out another 7K for everything required for it to actually run. Crooks....

A great comment, I didn't think of. Won't do well, without the correct equipment. An engine doesn't do well, without the matching equipment it was designed to work with.

Here is why the Hellcat motors are temporarily available:

Dodge stops taking Hellcat orders to tackle big backlog

Automotive News March 13, 2015 - 5:00 pm ET

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has stopped taking orders for the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats so it can work through a lengthy backlog.

“Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats,” the company said in a statement, “we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system.”

Demand for the pair of 707-hp cars built in Brampton, Ontario, has wildly exceeded company projections, and their limited availability has frustrated dealers and would-be buyers.

"MADE IN MEXICO"....for $17k you could build a 360 that'll kick the snot out of that imported piece of crap!!!

What Rat Patrol said.

Sure you can make a 360 put out 700 HP, but and this is a big BUT, it would be an absolute BEAST. 700 HP out of a 360 given the limitations of the heads available, you're basically building a full race motor.

Several posters have made comments about the motor being made in Mexico. If the motor were made in Canada would you make those comments? I think not.

The reality for better or worse is that we live in global sourced world. I have no doubt that quality products could be made in virtually any country, and I'm glad that it is at least made in North America.

I'm just amazed that we're seeing factory 700 HP motors at prices that are at least something that if I really wanted it, I could afford it. I remember being astounded when reading about the 32 valve 375 HP ZR1 Corvette and now I can buy a pick up with an engine that has as much power.

You seriously think an iron block 360 will run a reliable 700hp for 100K miles?

Bhahahahaha!!!!!!! I like you...you're too funny!!

100k reliable miles says who mopar/fiat or Juan who built it:D:D

When you see one with that many original miles let me know..

The price of the engine is just the beginning.
A trans and rear that will hold up?
Twist the body?
Then top speed is going to be limited by a host of issues.
Not the least of which is aero.
If money was no object, I would stuff it in a car for sure.

Let's see......."MADE IN MEXICO".......and "imported piece of crap!!!".

OK.....Just a quick check here.....The particular car models that are represented in that all-American series
NASCAR (and we can go back to when Dodge was still involved for some variety) are built where?

Chevrolet - Canada
Ford - Mexico
Dodge - Canada
Toyota - USA

OOPS!

OK, Reality Check. Its 2 days until April Fools Day. Are you SURE this is for real or a Mancini prank? :eek:ops:
